This Veteran’s Day, on Monday November 11th, we’ll be participating in the CHAD 1,000X CrossFit Global Community event. The workout will be programmed in each class throughout the day.
CHAD1,000X
For Time:
1,000 Step Ups (20”)
* Bring your own rucksack or weight vest.
This workout is done to honor Chad Wilkinson, a Navy SEAL, who died by su***de on Oct. 29, 2018, due to the effects of numerous deployments, several TBIs, blast-wave injuries, and PTSD. The workout consists of 1,000 step-ups with a weighted rucksack.
Chad created the workout to train for the rigors of a near 23,000-foot summit in Argentina. After his death, CrossFit GM Dave Castro, along with some friends, did the workout as a way to honor Chad. Since then, CHAD1000X has become a rallying point for those struggling with mental health to join the community and focus on taking one more step.
Follow to learn more about the Step Up Foundation, how to officially register for the event, or to make a donation. All proceeds of the CHAD 1000X fundraiser will go to support Veteran Mental Health Initiatives through The Step Up Foundation which, in conjunction with Sara Wilkinson, will provide financial support to other nonprofits dedicated to Veteran Mental Health initiatives.

Congratulations to Abby & Maria on their outstanding performances earlier today at the 2024 Crystal Lake Triathlon!
The race consisted of a .5 mile swim, an 18 mile bike, and a 5k run. Abby & Maria have dedicated countless hours this summer working on their swimming techniques, practicing the bike route, and running mile after mile in preparation for this race.
This was the first triathlon race for both of them and they did such a good job each finishing in less than 3 hours. Official times and results are coming soon, but for now, congrats again Abby & Maria on a job well done! 🙌
On Sunday, July 28th Cait and Matt completed a Half-Ironman in Augusta, Maine. A half-Ironman consists of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike, and a 13.1 mile run. Cait and Matt were using this event to test their training and qualify for even bigger races.
Cait finished 5:17:35 placing 11th in the women’s 25-29 year old division, 75th by gender, and 369th overall. She completed the swim in 00:25:24, the bike in 2:24:04, and the run in 1:53:52.
Matt finished in 4:43:07 placing 10th in the men’s 40-44 year old division, 120th by gender, and 150th overall. He completed the swim in 00:24:25, the bike in 2:38:01, and the run in 1:30:41.
Congratulations on these outstanding performances from our resident Ironman and Ironwoman!
Good luck to Cait Corbett and Matt Miller who’ll both be racing tomorrow in the Ironman event held in Augusta, Maine.
Cait and Matt will be doing the half-Ironman race which consists of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike, and a 13.1 miles!
Good luck, again Cait and Matt! We know you’ll do well! 🙌
Check out our shiny new grill! We’ll be putting it to work this Saturday after our Saturday Smackdown event! 🍔
Lily Paperman set a great example of an athlete being able to adapt to the workout due to physical limitations (in her case a stress fracture in her foot).
💥 Today was bench press day! Great job, everyone, on those heavy sets of 5.
Shout out to Chris W. and Nylah who had the heaviest lifts for the men and women respectively. Chris benched 215 # which was new 5RM PR. Nylah benched 115 # for 5 reps which tied her current PR, she came very close to a new record by lifting 120 # for four reps.
It was also fun to bench press outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Thank you everyone for helping to set up and break down all the equipment. 🙌
