The Albany Chorale is a community of individuals who enjoy combining their voices to make beautiful music. New singers are welcome. The Chorale season runs annually from August through May.

Auburn University is honored to announce that Rosephanye Powell has been selected for the prestigious 2025 Brock Commission! Her masterpiece will debut at the American Choral Directors Association’s National Conference in Dallas, Texas. Powell's legacy as one of America’s foremost composers shines through her remarkable work, spanning sacred to secular, and from Carnegie Hall to Lincoln Center.

Today the Albany Chorale participated in the Veterans Day celebration sponsored by the City of Albany Parks & Recreation. This is a photo of the very young ROTC color guard from Westover High School presenting the colors. The Chorale concluded the program with the Armed Forces Medley followed by God Bless America. I think they liked us! They especially liked our a ca****la 4-part version of God Bless America. It was a privilege to sing for the many veterans in attendance.

Singing is good for you. Singing with others may be even better. Studies have linked singing in a choir to reducing stress hormones, increasing immune-boosting cytokines and stimulating memory for people with dementia.
Our last concert of the season is fast approaching!! You don’t want to miss it!!
Here is a sample of our rehearsal tonight in Valdosta with approximately 100 other singers from VSU. We will perform the BRAHMS REQUIEM in Valdosta on Saturday night!
Our next concert is with Valdosta State University and will be March 25th in Valdosta. We are singing the BRAHMS REQUIEM with VSU choirs totaling approximately 120 voices! Here's the concert line-up:

We are sad to announce that we are losing our Artistic Director, Dr. Marc Boensel. He has been with us for four seasons, has brought us to a high performance level, and helped us create beautiful choral music. THANK YOU! We wish him the very best. We will miss him and his wife, Diana, who was a singer in the Chorale. God bless you both!
