On May 7, the ABMA was in Chicago to help create a scope for the Failure Atlas for Rolling Bearings in Wind Turbines project, as well as assign out different failure cases to be reviewed and edited. On May 8 and 9, the ABMA ASC B3 committee met to work on ISO projects and the next editions of ABMA 4 and ABMA 20.

Two news stories from ABMA Member SKF Group.

First, SKF Group has a new version of the SKF Bearing Assist mobile app that will help the bearing installer to replace bearings more accurately and effectively. Second, SKF Group and ArcelorMittal have signed a five-year performance-based contract to migrate all bearing positions in the two slab continuous casting machines operating in Fos-sur-Mer to SKF relubrication-free technology bearings. On , ABMA Member NTN Americas donated a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van with its cargo hold full of supplies to Wright-Way Rescue, an animal rescue organization based in Morton Grove, IL. The rescue organization's previous van had been in an accident and declared a total loss, with an insurance payout too small to replace the vehicle.

ABMA Member NSK has achieved a design ideal for outdoor use with a highly stable platform and autonomous navigation, all packaged in a low-profile body. The robot can transport objects stably on uneven surfaces, enabling automated transport in outdoor environments where it has been difficult to introduce robots.

ABMA Member NSK and TOPPAN Edge Inc. are jointly developing temperature sensing RFID tags for industrial machinery maintenance with the aim to reduce maintenance workload. The reader device will scan all tags in an area at once with no need to individually scan each tag. The companies are also developing a maintenance management system to manage and analyze the acquired data.

ABMA Member JTEKT North America has signed a virtual Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Greenalia, the European Renewable Independent Power Producer, through its American division Greenalia Power US subsidiary Excel Advantage Services, LLC.
