A great parade requires a great emcee. And we have 2 of them!! Meet the 2024 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Emcees, John Brennan and John Pann. John Brennan is a former Grand Marshal and owner of O’Connell’s Restaurant, our biggest sponsor. John Pann is a long-time Alexandrian and part owner of John Crouch Tobacconist Pipe and Cigar Shop on King Street. These two are always ready with a joke or story, and sure to keep you laughing!

The 2024 St. Patrick’s Day Parade is drawing near! In preparation for the day, the Ballyshaners have designed their 2024 parade pin. Each year, a parade pin is distributed to parade volunteers and supporters. This year, the Ballyshaners Vice Chair Maggie Hayes and Treasurer Harold Sinnett designed a pin to celebrate Irish heritage in the founding of the City of Alexandria. Alexandria was officially established in 1749 and will be proudly celebrating its 275th anniversary this year. To commemorate the anniversary, the 2024 parade pin illustrates a Schooner ship similar to that displayed on the city flag, along with a shamrock to represent the role of the Irish in the founding of Alexandria. The Ballyshaners are proud of the Irish heritage upon which Alexandria is founded, and we look forward to celebrating Irish-American heritage month in our great city! Come join us on March 2 at the 2024 Ballyshaner’s Alexandria St. Patrick’s Day Parade on King Street!
