Thank you, Bristol Myers Squibb team members who came in to help us in the pantry. They sorted, organized, stocked shelves, and packed food bags. They made 200 bags, so we could be ready for Wednesday's food pantry distribution.
Wowzer!! We are amazed at the school supplies donation from the tournament event for Out of Bounds Disc Golf. Their attendees were very generous, and it resulted in four filled carts and more of backpacks and supplies. Thank you to Andrew Kline, Charles Kresge, and the team for helping children in need.
Out of Bounds Disc Golf is hosting a tournament event this coming Sunday, August 25th to benefit the . Proceeds will go towards school supplies for local children in need. Their attendees are already donating supplies. Thank you!

Allentown families prepare for school with Salvation Army backpack giveaway "It is difficult, no matter how inexpensive they may be at Walmart or whatever, just to get enough school supplies for a family of four or more or larger. So,
We had more than 70 volunteers at our backpack giveaway last week. We are so grateful for their time and talent in helping us distribute backpacks, register attendees, serve water and slushies, assist with arts and crafts, hand out personal care items, count at the gate and so much more! Thank you to these amazing volunteers from , DeSales University, Lineage, Inc., UGI Utilities, Inc. and Wells Fargo.
A very proud and exciting moment for us to partner with these two agencies Lehigh Valley Health Network and to provide period products for pr***en and teen girls. We heard the call from families in need and wanted to meet the demand. The was able to donate more than 320 packages of menstrual products to the two agencies for the . We hope to continue working together as part of a larger national campaign to 'End Period Poverty'

Highmark Wholecare and Lineage Logistics Foundation were Platinum Sponsors for the backpack giveaway. Adria Laboy and George Thorne spoke on behalf of their organizations. With support from these agencies, we were able to provide backpacks, supplies, and other initiatives around personal care items for boys and girls at the event.
We had a great community event today with 1300 people attending. Children received backpacks filled with supplies to be ready for school. Our partners also helped us provide toys, books and other giveaways. Families attending enjoyed of Allentown, Ritas Ice, and walking tacos. A Storybook party was there to do facepainting and special visits from princesses and Spiderman. Kids played fun games and won prizes. What an amazing day!

Allentown Board Member, Jason Yeakel, and the Bank of America collected these backpacks filled with supplies for our distribution in Allentown. We look forward to giving these out to kids tomorrow.
Capital Blue Cross volunteers joined us to pack backpacks and get us ready for the distribution on August 15th. Thank you volunteers for all your help. We are grateful to Capital Blue Cross for their Silver Level Sponsorship which helped purchase the items needed for the distribution.
Packing continued this week with volunteers from finishing up 400 bags. Their team members also helped move supplies into the building, stock the food pantry, and pack food for families. Having a large group volunteer is 100% beneficial to our small staff. Thank you for all that you accomplished!!
On day #3 of packing, associates from Capital Blue Cross and the infinity group at Amazon.com helped us organize and pack more bags to giveaway to children next week. They also went above and beyond to help in the pantry. Thank you for helping us get ready!!
The Buy One, Give Ten Donation Partnership with Earth Breeze allows us to put a pack of detergent sheets in the 1300+ backpacks we are preparing to giveaway on August 15th. We are thankful to Earth Breeze for the donation, which helps the families we serve with their laundry needs.

More photos from our school supply drive collection at Walmart this past weekend. The Allentown officers along with members of the women's ministries, collected supplies purchased by Walmart customers. We will be at the Walmart stores in Whitehall and Trexlertown again this weekend.
Did you see us at your local Walmart store this past weekend? The Salvation Army officers, women's ministries, and staff collected school supplies for children in need. We met some generous customers like the man on the right. We will be out at the Whitehall and Trexlertown stores again on 8/3 & 4.
Thank you to NFI Industries team that joined us to sign up families for the annual re-enrollment event for the Allentown pantry. This is a pivotal part of the procees of ensuring families get the food they need. The NFI team also helped organize and pack frozen foods for distribution.
