🛑🏡 Domestic violence often leads to homelessness. Over 80% of women experiencing homelessness have also experienced domestic violence. Safe, affordable housing is a lifeline.

We are happy to announce that starting this month we are once again partnering with Turning Point of Lehigh Valley by providing a new counseling office location for Turning Point's empowering and supportive counseling services! This new office location enhances the accessibility of Turning Point's individual and group counseling services across the Lehigh Valley💜

Unfortunately, over 1 in 3 women, and over 1 in 4 men will experience domestic and intimate partner abuse in their lifetime.

We understand that hair and beauty professionals regularly see and hear many difficult personal stories, often fulfilling a "Hairapist" (therapist) role for their clients. As such, we would like to offer you and your staff a one-hour training session to support your clients, at no cost!

In partnership with the Professional Beauty Association (PBA), we are pleased to virtually offer: CUT IT OUT®: The Beauty Community Against Domestic Abuse. Launched in 2003, CUT IT OUT® has seen tremendous success across the country, training tens of thousands of salon professionals and cosmetology students, and has received national recognition and won several awards. Every participant will receive:

🌟Window Decal for the salon to highlight their efforts to stand united with survivors.

🌿🏠 Survivors of intimate partner abuse need safe spaces to heal and rebuild. Lack of affordable housing traps many in abusive situations. In fact, 50% of homeless women report that domestic violence was the immediate cause of their homelessness.

💚🍫 Treat yourself to some dark chocolate! Research suggests it can improve brain function, enhance mood, and even combat stress. A small indulgence can be a delicious part of your mental health routine.

🌈 LGBTQ+ survivors of domestic and intimate partner abuse often face unique barriers to seeking help, including discrimination and lack of access to affirming services. This , let's work towards creating more inclusive and accessible support systems for all survivors. Everyone

Today, the Supreme Court decided 8-1 to uphold a law banning those with a domestic violence restraining order (also known as a PFA) from owning a firearm. This landmark ruling prioritizes the safety and well-being of survivors and strengthens our commitment towards a safer society for all.

Today, we honor Juneteenth, the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans were freed. At Turning Point of Lehigh Valley, we recognize the enduring struggles for freedom and justice, particularly for Black survivors of domestic and intimate partner abuse. We stand in solidarity, committed to supporting and empowering all individuals in our community. Together, we strive for a world free from violence and oppression.
