What is Project Time? It is SO much more than research, dioramas, and presentations. It is THE learning time - not just what happens after!

It is a time for:

Dee brings an extensive background in child development. She is creative, passionate about social/emotional development and wellness, and an extremely skilled writer - she's even written children's books! 📚

Today, we are introducing our Post-Primary Instructor, Mary Mahaffey! 🤩

Mary brings multiple years of experience in small-group teaching and instruction. She has the kindest soul and cares deeply for her students. Her class will be a special one as her sweet little baby is getting to come to school with her each day. :)

Today, we are introducing our Primary Instructor, Lydia Morris! 🤩

Lydia originally reached out because she was interested in enrolling her daughter. Upon meeting her and hearing her heart for education, we knew we had to have her on our team! We are thrilled for her to bring her creative abilities and passion for a child-centered learning experience to her primary classroom.

Lydia loves floristry, books, film photography, and indie music. 🎶

Today, we are introducing our Nursery Instructor, Angel Cross! 🤩

One of the benefits of being an instructor at WonderHere is having onsite baby care. Angel is quite literally an "angel" for our staff! :) She is a caring and experienced childcare provider who has raised 3 wonderful children of her own.

Angel loves crafting and is a huge fan of 90s country music. 🎵

Today, we are introducing our Schoolhouse Director, Amber Barrick! 🤩

Amber started as a mom whose children were in our original homeschool hybrid program. She jumped right into our program taking the initiative to help where we needed an extra set of hands. When we decided to become WonderHere Anderson, we knew Amber was perfect for the role of Schoolhouse Director.

She has a calm, nurturing spirit and is excellent at being organized and efficient without cutting corners.

Amber loves gardening, minor-league baseball, and Seinfeld!

Who’s going to be celebrating with us?!

We have truly struck gold this school year with all of our staff and are ready to take on the 24/25 school year. 🤩

What can you expect from our WonderHere instructors?

🥰 Kind: Our instructors are respectful, caring, and value each child and family that crosses the threshold of our schoolhouse.

🤝 Cooperative: Our instructors work together as problem-solvers with the ability to engage and ask questions to deliver high-quality learning opportunities without cutting corners.

🎨 Creative: Our instructors are co-conspirators with their students, modeling for them their creative ideas and pursuing their thinking. They foster an atmosphere for creative learning and thinking by not shying away from messes, rabbit trails, and questions they do not know the answer to.

We have planned a relaxing and fun weekend for our instructors and staff our Summer Staff Retreat for WonderHere Anderson and we are counting down the hours!

We CAN NOT WAIT to celebrate our grand opening next week with the founders of WonderHere, Jessica and Tiffany!

To embrace play, unstructured and outdoors, creates natural moments for children to exercise choice and develop agency.

To embrace project time, child-led and personalized to their interests, also creates those necessary opportunities for a child to exercise choice, finesse the art of decision-making, and encounter challenges and failure without fear.

At WonderHere we do both . . . We prioritize play AND projects. By doing so we say to the child: we see you- we are listening- and we believe you can.

Starting NEXT week (7/9), we are hosting F R E E pop-up classes each Tuesday this month!

What can you expect?

🌿 themed "mini" unit studies from our schoolhouse curriculum for children with project time, book study, and outdoor play (weather allowing)

❓a "How to WonderHere" workshop for parents to learn about who we are and how we can partner with you to provide a high-quality, research-based education to your child

Our programs are designed for ages 3-6th grade, and this will not be a drop-off class. Parents are encouraged to stay and attend the parent workshop, but they also can stay with their child to see our curriculum in action. ✨

WonderHere is not just another homeschool program . . . WonderHere is a childhood advocate. Advocating for peacefully paced learning, eradicating the arbitrary practice of sorting kids by grade level and letter grades, preserving the child's natural right to play, and celebrating a child's interests and ideas through project time, encouraging the parent to engage and exercise their freedom to choose, dance outside of the norm, and color outside of the lines a little.

In every program we do, in every unit study we write, on every stage we speak from - we are advocating for kids to learn and play and live more freely.
