Samuel James Trenter, 2024 GED Graduate from District 196, believes that it is never to late to obtain your GED. His children are proud of him and he sought out his GED to show them you can do anything you put your mind to.
He would like to thank his extremely supportive wife Haley...this opportunity would not be possible without her. Her support has allowed Samuel to pursue higher education as his future plans are to work toward his Bachelor's Degree in Ministry and Business Administration.
Samuel attended our GED program. If you would like to learn how you can obtain your GED, visit https://www.bit.ly/196GED

Meet our ABE Graduation guest speaker....Brandy Logan. Brandy is currently the Adult High School Equivalency and Account Specialist at the Minnesota Department of Education.
Brandy has demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination in overcoming significant challenges to pursue higher education and create a better future for herself and her family. After dropping out of school in the 10th grade, she faced homelessness, a lack of family support, and parental substance abuse, leaving her feeling hopeless and without life skills or an education. At the age of 19, Brandy became a young mother and continued working in low-paying jobs.
However, her life took a pivotal turn when she had an enlightening moment while working as a waitress. Motivated by the desire for a better life, Brandy managed to save enough money to take the GED® test, which marked the beginning of her educational journey.
She successfully obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and is now pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Organizational Leadership.
Brandy’s story is a powerful testament to her strength, resilience, and commitment to breaking the generational cycle of drugs and poverty.
Last night was a fantastic night for our ABE graduates!
The L1-L3 English Language classes from Cedar Valley Learning Center visited the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge on May 16th, spending time with staff in the main center and then venturing off on a small guided walk on pathways into nature.
For most of the students, it was the first time to visit the site. Learning opportunities like this enhance classroom instruction, while introducing students to Minnesota experiences.
Tonight's the night as 78 graduates celebrate receiving their adult diploma or GED. Congratulations on your achievement!
ABE diploma students took a field trip to Inver Hills Community College on May 7 to learn about various college programs they may be interested in after high school graduation. While touring the college grounds, students found two baby turtles on the sidewalk. They returned the turtles to the water's edge, and they happily swam off!
An unexpected learning opportunity!
