Our 1st grade students had a visit from one of our 7th graders today. During his visit, he read aloud "On the Seashore 🏖". After story telling, the students painted their very own seashells 🎨🐚

As part of this week's Exercise Unit, the 3K and PreK classes took a class with a personal trainer. They stretched, danced, ran an obstacle course, and even played limbo! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Korn for a wonderful class!

Earlier this week, our Italian enrichment program students learned how to perform the traditional Italian folk dance: the Tarantella! We cannot wait to see if they perform this at our Yearend Enrichment Showcase this month. Continua a ballare, studenti 🎼💃🕺🎼

Students in our PreK-E class planted seeds 🌱and created funny face 🤪 flower pots 🪴

Yesterday afternoon, FDNY Fire Fighters 👩‍🚒🧑‍🚒 from Engine 263 / Ladder 117 (located on 42nd Street and Astoria Boulevard S.) stopped by the school and invited our 3K and 4K students to tour their fire engine 🚒, learn about fire 🔥safety, and even provide them with some swag - Check out those helmets⛑!

This week, our Italian enrichment program students planted wildflower seeds into the wooden craft planters they decorated a couple of weeks ago. We can't wait to see what blooms!☀️🌷

Thanks to the support of Immac’s Home Academy Association, our outstanding teachers were treated to a delicious luncheon (with all of the fixins) in honor of Teacher Appreciation Day.

The HAA hosted this annual event in recognition of our teachers’ hard work and dedication and thanks them for all they do for our students throughout the year and for being quite PASTA-bly the best teachers around 😁

Thank you to the HAA members for their contributions; and Melani C. and Shaun C. for supplying a delicious spread for our staff to enjoy.

For this week's unit, our Pre-K students are learning about wheels 🛞. Here, they are excited to share with you the colorful pinwheels they made!

On Friday, a Mad Scientist👨‍🔬 visited our 3k & PreK programs. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to see (and pop!) dry ice bubbles 🫧. How cool 😎!

Our 3rd Graders celebrated 🎉publishing their research papers. They chose an animal to research and used the internet💻to find out interesting details and information about their subject. Some of the things they learned were what they eat, where they live, what they do, and much, much more!

Last week, students in our 3k and PreK classes were treated to an in-school field trip when they had a visit from a special guest - Mr. Donato. Mr. Donato explained to the children how bridges 🌉are built👷‍♀️👷‍♂️🦺
