Last week, we had the opportunity to advocate to Georgia leaders in Congress on behalf of the Institute.
Undergraduate and graduate SGA cabinet members addressed concerns in regards to Pell Grants, Title IX, Federal Funding for research, the Visa process, and more. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!
SGA sent this letter today to the Georgia Secretary of State and the Fulton County Board of Elections asking for them to consider the unique needs of students when deciding early voting dates and precinct locations for the December 6th runoff election. As it stands, students will not be able to vote while they are home for Thanksgiving break, and they will not be able to vote on campus for the runoff election. We are calling on our election administrators to support student voters, because all Georgians benefit when all voters are able to cast their ballot.
On October 25th and 26th, anyone registered to vote in Fulton County can vote early in Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech. It will be open from 8:30AM-5:00PM both days. Student IDs will be accepted as valid photo identification as well. Stop by on your way to class and cast your vote!
SGA had an amazing homecoming weekend and competed in the Mini 500 for the first time ever, placing 4th in our division! Our members celebrated with a homecoming brunch and a Jackets win! 🐝
SGA sent out a newsletter this morning highlighting our initiatives and work thus far. We have had a lot of progress on our ongoing advocacy efforts and events, so please read here to learn more! 🐝

Applications to serve as a representative for the Class of 2026 are open! As a freshman representative, you will have the opportunity to create impactful change on campus and represent your peers. The window to run is just under a week so apply as soon as possible!
We’ve heard a lot of complaints from first-year students who live communally that they feel unsupported by having an entirely self-managed COVID-19 protocol, and many questions from other students about how many excused absences we’re allowed to take for classes if we test positive and what our academic accommodations look like, especially now that we don’t have asymptomatic testing options on campus. SGA has advocated to Institute senior leadership for them to bring back the COVID-19 isolation hotel and meal services, as well as provide more clear academic accommodations. However, we have not been able to make tangible progress and have been told multiple times that moving back to prior accommodations is not feasible anymore despite the continued need for this support. The recommendations from the Institute are not realistic for students, especially students sharing dorm rooms with limited access to food. In an effort to be transparent about our advocacy efforts, please read this Undergraduate House of Representatives Resolution detailing our frustrations and requests.
Apply to be a member of our executive committees today to give your insight on projects and initiatives aimed at improving Georgia Tech and the student experience! To learn more about each committee or to apply visit our website or the link in our bio!
SGA is excited to announce that the Menstrual Product Program (MPP) is now fully funded! SGA and other campus partners have worked for years to make free menstrual hygiene products available in all campus restrooms (men’s, women’s, and gender-neutral) to promote inclusive menstrual equity for all individuals who menstruate. Through this program, biodegradable and organic menstrual products are being stocked across campus for all students.
Looking to get involved with SGA this year?
The Undergraduate House of Representatives is looking for leaders for these remaining positions! No prior SGA experience is required and people from all backgrounds, majors, and years are encouraged to apply!
Feel free to email the Speaker of the House, Apuroop, at [email protected] if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!
SGA just sent out our first newsletter for the year, so read here to see some of what we’ve been working on this summer! We’re excited to see everyone back on campus in just a few short weeks, so let us know if there are any initiatives you’d like to see started or supported! 🐝 (all links mentioned can be found at the linktree in our bio)
This weekend commemorates the 155th anniversary of Juneteenth. Over 250,000 slaves were freed in Texas after federal troops announced the end of slavery to the southern United States.
In addition to attending these events at Georgia Tech and in Atlanta, we encourage you to take some time to learn more about this holiday and it’s significance in history.
Happy Juneteenth everyone!
Happy Pride Month! We want to thank everyone who help push progress on campus and creates a more inclusive environment for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Our mission is to empower students and create a safe environment for all on campus. Please reach out if you have more ideas about ways SGA can support our LGBTQIA+ community! 🏳️🌈

Rohan and Grace were sworn in this morning as the new Undergraduate Student Body President and Executive Vice President, and want to share this statement addressing the early end to the previous administration. This letter includes some steps their administration will be taking to prevent future instances of sexual misconduct both inside and outside of SGA, but is by no means an exhaustive plan. If you have any questions or comments, please reach out either by email ([email protected]) or by DM.
