School safety starts at the bus stop. 🚌 🛑 Share these tips with your children. ⌚ Arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes early. 🚏 Stand 5 giant steps away from the curb. 🚌 Wait until the bus stops, the door opens and the driver says it’s okay before stepping onto the bus.

Tweens need to use vehicle safety as well. Make sure your children ages 9- 12 are buckled up safely in the back seat before beginning your trip.

Drive the speed limit, be ready to stop quickly if needed and look before turning when driving in areas where people are walking. Pedestrians should cross at intersections, use crosswalks when available and look before stepping into the roadway.

O.C.G.A. § 40-8-76.1 is the Georgia seat belt law. It requires every person, regardless of age, driving or riding in a front seat of a passenger vehicle to wear a seat belt! Not only is it for your safety, it is the law.

In Georgia, if you are under the age of 18, you are required to take 30 hours of an approved driver’s education course to obtain a Class D Provisional license. Driver’s education courses lower your chances of aggressive or distracted driving.
