Atlanta Girls' School
We are Atlanta Girls’ School. We prepare girls for college. They will need to be curious, creative, collaborative, and confident.
In a world becoming exponentially more complex, girls will face challenges that cannot be solved with traditional methods alone. At Atlanta Girls’ School, we teach girls to be world-class problem solvers. Our curriculum and culture emerge from a distinct vision of what girls must learn individually and collectively to become thoughtful and capable leaders. We achieve this by using proven and emerg
May the words of our Founders’ Charge continue to guide you no matter where life takes you.💙💛
All of life is school; therefore, be in attendance daily.
Choose wisdom, generosity, and kindness as your teachers.
Judge tenderly and be forgiving: everyone else is learning too.
During the leaden hours of loss or failure, ask others for help and help those whose suffering is greater.
During the bright moments of success or celebrity, say thank you and wield power with compassion and humility.
All of life is a journey; therefore, pack lightly and travel broadly.
Choose courage, integrity, and wonder as your companions.
Along the way, unload yourselves of fears and hubris.
Find work that profits your souls and gives you purpose.
Leave each corner of the world better than the way you found it.
Keep your hearts soft and your minds open.
Listen. Ask questions. Be bold. And wed yourselves to joy.
– Emily Ellison, Co-Founder of AGS, May 22, 2004
In the words of Ms. Peters, “On behalf of the countless adults whose lives have been touched by the sunbeams of light and joy that make up our student body - current and former - it has been an incredible honor to spend time in this bubble with each of you. Let’s go make some more. The world needs us to.”
Best wishes to the entire AGS community, wherever your next adventure may take you!💙💛
May we present to you the AGS Class of 2024…congratulations graduates!🎓
Thank you to the for honoring Atlanta Girls’ School yesterday with a proclamation for our 24 years of service in the Atlanta community. Councilman Bond commented, “...if you educate a woman, you educate a nation,” and we couldn’t agree more!💙💛
We’re still all smiles after last week’s Middle School production of Frozen JR. Brava to the entire cast and crew for their incredible performance!❄️☃️
Meet the phenomenal AGS seniors who’ve been with us since the 6th grade 🎓! These AGS royals are shining bright as they’ve grown, celebrated each other, and fostered an incredible sisterhood with all their fellow AGS hurricanes. 🌟 Let’s applaud these inspiring leaders who’ve embraced every moment and cultivated a bond that’s truly unbreakable. 👑💕

Thank you to our special Earth Day Assembly guests, Storm and Climate Change Specialist and On-Air Meteorologist, Carl Parker and Climate Science Producer, from and . Not only did Carl and Ali share important data and facts on climate change, they also provided us with some simple actions we can all take now to ensure a better future for our planet. 🌎
Today was Horizon Day at AGS, where we had a blast with our sisters, making memories that will last a lifetime! Earth and Sky teams battled it out in games and outdoor adventures, all in good fun. Here’s to a year of togetherness, energy, and non-stop excitement! Cheers to sisterhood and endless laughter!
Have you ever gone into a situation expecting to be disappointed in order to avoid feeling disappointed if things didn’t go your way? In her Senior Speech, Ai reminded us that while expecting disappointment may protect our feelings in the short term, the downside is that it may also diminish our hope. As Ai so very eloquently pointed out, hope is something worth holding on to–especially in those instances where we’re convinced things will not go our way. Thank you, Ai for your inspiring words!
AGS just had the most unforgettable prom this past weekend! Laughter echoed through the night, smiles lit up the room, and the dance floor was alive with epic moves and unforgettable memories. Here’s to a night of pure magic! And thank you to for the amazing photos capturing the night!
Congratulations to the varsity tennis team on a successful season, and best of luck to the doubles team of Abby (pictured on far left) and Linden (pictured on far right) who will compete in tomorrow's GIAA State Tournament! Go Hurricanes!🌀
For anyone who has mastered cooking, or even attempted it for that matter, you’ve likely learned that a recipe is meant to be a guide. Switching up an ingredient or adding a favorite spice can sometimes lead to an end result that’s even tastier than you could have imagined. In her Senior Speech, Malak reminded us that just as in following a recipe, navigating our life experiences doesn’t have to be straightforward. In fact, sometimes when we are brave enough to forge our own paths–be it in cooking or in life–we may discover potential that we never thought possible. Thank you Malak!
We're throwing it back to last month's GISA State Literary Competition where our Hurricanes showed up in a big way! Congrats to Caira who made the audience laugh until they cried with her Dramatic Oral Interp; Annie Reid who received fourth place honors with her essay on traditions; and Kennedy and Dovie who were a crowd favorite and awarded fourth place in Duo Interp. Well done and way to represent!
Far too often, we find ourselves burying who we truly are in our interactions with others. It serves as a way to protect ourselves and may also be a way to fit in. Gwen’s Senior Speech reminded us that there is power in embracing and accepting our own authentic selves as well as the importance of letting that person shine through when interacting with others. In the words of Gwen, “...if people don’t accept you or don’t appreciate what makes you special, give yourself permission to move on.” Thank you, Gwen!
The future’s so bright, we’ve got to wear shades*!
*Special eclipse-viewing shades, that is!😎
In her Senior Speech, Abigail invited us to think of ourselves as mosaics. Our whole selves provide a full picture of so many significant, and sometimes, seemingly insignificant moments. Thank you, Abigail, for reminding us to celebrate not only ourselves as the full and beautiful mosaic that each of us is, but to also switch our gazes every once in a while to recognize the small moments that help create the individual pieces and connections in our mosaic.

Today, as we celebrate the incredible strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere, we can’t help but be proud and inspired by all of the bold women leaders of tomorrow here at AGS. Your confidence, strong voices, and willingness to challenge the status quo remind us every day that the future is bright!
To all our students and alumnae, may you continue to shine your light and have a positive impact in our community and the world!
“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” In her Senior Speech, Raveena shared how this Taoist quote has held true throughout her life. Time and again, when she was ready, the “teacher” showed up, including, quite literally, during her time at AGS. Thank you Raveena for sharing your story which served as a reminder that even in the face of adversity and obstacles, our own “teachers” will show up precisely when we need them.
Wishing all Hurricanes a wonderful and relaxing Spring Break!💙💛

As humans, we have so many different identities, and those can evolve and change over time. Bean’s Senior Speech reminded us of the importance of discovering and embracing our identities–each and every one of them. After all, they are what help shape us into the truly unique individuals that we are. Thank you, Bean!
Atlanta Girls’ School is honored to be a recipient of the College Board's Female Diversity Award for Computer Science Principles–the only metro Atlanta independent school to receive this recognition! Knowing how women are underrepresented in the computer sciences and STEM fields, we are so proud to play a role in making progress toward gender parity in these areas.
