Bringing Georgia Tech's Spirit of Research & Innovation to K-12 STEM Education in Georgia
The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing(CEISMC) (pronounced like "seismic") is a partnership uniting the Georgia Institute of Technology with educational groups, schools, corporations, and opinion leaders throughout the state of Georgia. CEISMC is a unit within the Division of Lifetime Learning at Georgia Tech.
High school students participated in the 3rd iteration of Georgia Tech's Cyber Security Camp this week which ended with the FBI experience today that included a tour of the Georgia Tech Police Department. The weeklong program is in partnership with FBI - Atlanta and InfraGard National Members Alliance - Atlanta along with Georgia Tech Office of Information Technology and the Center for Education Integrating Science Math and Computing (CEISMC).

ATL - STEM NOLA is coming to Georgia Tech on May 18, 9:00am - 12:30pm for a FREE STEM Saturday: Force & Motion.
K-12 students will get hands-on engaging in activities to learn the mechanics of force and motion! Force is the energy exerted to cause motion. Motion is an objects change in position over time. By the event's end, students will define force and motion and apply these mechanics to their experiments. All participants will build and test their own race car! 🏎️ 🚗 🚙

Sirocus Barnes of CEISMC's Expanded Learning Programs Team had a great experience! He participated in a Roundtable Session - Promoting Adolescent Social and Emotional Development During Out-Of-School Time: A Systematic Review with Rebecca Levine from the University of California, San Diego and Fuko Kiyama from the University of California, Irvine.
CEISMC's Research & Evaluation team had a great experience! There was a poster session with Dyanne Baptiste Porter, Jessica Gale, Meltem Alemdar, Jasmine Choi and Sunni Newton- "Changing in the Moment": Examining Enacted and Personal Pedagogical Content Knowledge of Engineering Teachers, and a Roundtable Session with Justina Jackson, Katie Boice, and Meltem Alemdar focused on - STEAM Teachers Embracing Rightful Presence: A Shared Commitment to "Amplify the Sociopolitical."

Our Mission
The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) enhances PreK-12 and post-secondary STEM education by drawing upon the expertise and scholarly contributions of the Georgia Tech community. CEISMC advocates for and leads systemic changes to increase STEM interest and achievement for all students, especially those underrepresented in STEM. CEISMC’s research efforts allow for the identification and dissemination of evidence-based best practices in STEM education.
