Get your tickets for Canvas Stretching and Foam Mounting 101 this Sunday 6/23!! Supplies provided. BYO work on canvas to be framed. 🎟️

• .briadams I will always be at the intersection of art and education. Will be teaching two common and easy ways to display artwork that is on canvas.

The main thing that had me stuck on custom framing was how inaccessible it was. I was a whole art major that didn’t know the world existed…until I started custom framing at Michael’s. It’s SO expensive, but the caveat is that while it seems inaccessible it is SO easy to DIY, especially if you end up going somewhere generic to get your work framed🙂‍↔️ no shade lmao.

But you really can creatively and very nicely frame your own work and I’m here to show any and everyone How. 😌 Bring your canvas art and let’s get it poppin. Especially appreciative of for thinking of this kind of programming for the community.
📸: as always

Upcoming family classes!! Join us at The Supermarket on Sunday 6/23 for a fun and creative cyanotype workshop where kids and parents can explore the magical world of sun prints together! ☀️ Cyanotype is a historic photographic printing process that uses sunlight to create beautiful blue and white images. 🌀

In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of cyanotype printing, experiment with their own objects to create unique compositions, and take home their own handmade sun prints. No prior experience is necessary - just a curiosity for art and a love for hands-on learning! All printing supplies will be provided, but we ask that parents and kids bring objects from home to make their composition. Examples of objects to bring are legos, kitchen utensils, flowers, dolls, favorite socks, marbles, jewelry, bottles, lonely socks, blocks, car toys, cut out of hands (or other fun shapes).

Suggested ages for this workshop are 4-10, but kids of all ages are welcome with parental supervision. Parents must stay with their kids for the entirety of the workshop. Each child must have a ticket. Parents are included for free.

*Please note: This class involves chemicals. Gloves for parents and kids will be provided.

Jasmin Warnock is a British Immigrant, raised in Mississippi currently living in Atlanta. Growing up in the deep south, the environments in which she has lived have heavily impacted her work as a biracial black q***r woman. She uses her work and printmaking as a vessel, in order to portray the process of grappling with her identity. This portrayal seeks to also foster connection with others with similar experiences. As a graduate of Georgia State University, Jasmin studied Marketing and minored in Art with experience working within the digital and art marketing spheres as well as arts administration. She recently assisted the 8-week Relief concentration in Printmaking at Penland School of Craft. She is currently a member of the Atlanta Printmakers Studio.
