Honoring Independence Day
Two hundred and forty-eight years ago, our nation's founders declared freedom with the Declaration of Independence, a document that inspired generations of warriors to uphold its ideals. Today, Marines honor this legacy by remaining vigilant and committed to defending liberty whenever and wherever our nation calls.
Today as we observe Independence Day by engaging with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades, concerts, barbecues and casual family gatherings, take a moment to appreciate the sacrifices of U.S. service members past and present, who volunteered to protect our shared American values and independence in alignment with our unit’s motto, “Send Me”.
