Children experience all the same emotions as adults, but they aren’t yet equipped with the tools to handle those feelings. The first step toward understanding their big feelings is helping them learn how to recognize and name their emotions. Asking them open-ended questions like “What is something that makes you happy or sad?” or “Can you show me what face you make when you are happy, sad or angry?” gives children the opportunity to share their emotions and show what they know about them. This exercise had Goddard students using emojis to identify each emotion in honor of World Emoji Day. 😊😍😝😥😆 Give it a try with your little one!

Teacher Shout Out!
Mr. Dillon has been a Goddard School teacher for about 3 years now.
He received his CDA while employed with us at Canton 2.
He has enrolled to return to school to further his education.
We are SO proud of Mr. Dillon and his many accomplishments.
He was also our Teacher of the Month for June 2024.
