The ASD Board of Directors has set a bond election for Tuesday, November 5. The bond will provide additional classrooms, improve safety and address critical systems. The bond amount is $532,100,000.

The proposed bond package will:
Build Middle School #5 on the ASD property on Sumner-Tapps Highway E
Replace Cascade Middle School on the ASD property on I St. NE and 40th St. NE (57-year-old building)
Replace Alpac Elementary School on the current site (52-year-old building)
Make facility improvements at 16 schools and six support buildings to address safety, security and critical systems

The ASD Board of Directors voted unanimously Monday to place an Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) replacement levy on the February 13 ballot. This levy makes up 14% of the district budget and would replace an expiring levy. More info here: https://www.auburn.wednet.edu/2024levy

We are going to celebrate at 5 pm, September 26 at the Community Grand Opening of the new Terminal Park Elementary! Please join us as we officially open the last of 8 on-time, on-budget buildings from the 2016 Building for Learning bond! The whole community is invited!

The ASD recently refinanced bonds used to pay for the modernization of Auburn High School, saving the taxpayers of Auburn $3.2 million over the life of the bonds.

“This is a big win for the taxpayers of Auburn,” said Cindi Blansfield, associate superintendent of business and operations.
