Never Quiet
At the Auburn Noon Lions
Today at the meeting Lion Leanne Guier received a Sponsors Pin for bringing in more than two new members last year. A new member starts their first year with the help of their Sponsor. In that first year it is the Sponsor’s responsibility to contact their new members weekly to help them attend meetings. The Sponsor ensures their members help on a project, a fund-raiser to raise funds to help hose with sight or hearing conditions. The Aponsor takes them to a Zone Meeting, a District Meeting to learn what others lions do.
We sworn in Lion Carolyn Olson as a member of our Board of Directors understanding the obligations that comes with being a Director.
We all saw some of the eighty eight blankets members had made and we adjourned early so we could make sure every child received a blanket for their Summer Camp. All 76 children received their own blanket.
We are Lions. We Serve.
In 1964 the Auburn Noon Lions took part in the ‘Hands Across The Water’ program and visited Japan , going in to Sponsor a new club in our Sister City now known as Tamba.
Our Youth Ambassadors just arrived in Japan. They will all be individually hosted by Japanese families and the their children will come here.
Our meetings are Never quiet.
Tonight the Mayor of Auburn was there along with the Executive Directors of the Miss Auburn and Miss Auburn Outstanding Teen to present A Lifetime Service Award to Lion Donna Hamilton for her decades of work with the program. Our club recognizes and supports this program as the largest single organization that funds scholarships to young women in the United States.
Following that award presentation Lion Donna provided the Induction Ceremony for new members Brian and Amber Lott.
We are plus four already in membership.
Our next service project is the delivery and handing out homemade blankets to the Children at Camp Leo Summer Camp.
There’s a summer canp off Auburn-Black Diamond road soon to be filled with laughing children. They all have a disease called diabetes.
This summer camp is called Camp Leo and the Lions support it. The children learn they’re not alone. Not only do they learn how to deal with their disease but they have fun at Camp Leo like any other summer camp.
The Auburn Noon Lions will be there. They’ll hand out more than seventy hand stitched blankets, made with care. They’ll hold a barbecue to feed them and hope to build more for the camp to make the experience better, year after year.
Find out more by coming to see us at the Rainbow Cafe on Main Street in Auburn. First and Third Tuesday we meet at 6 PM AND second and fourth Tuesdays at noon to allow as many as possible to come to our meetings.
Charged by Helen Kelker to be her “Knights of the Blind and Deaf” we work in the Auburn, Algona, Pacific communities to give back and to care.
Come join us. We Serve.

Lions Serve!
Today our Lions Club was out at the new Camp Leo situated on the Auburn-Black Diamond Highway. Camp Leo was established decades ago to help our young people afflicted with this disease not only to learn skills to help them but do it with other young people their age as well as having a normal summer camp.
We heard they needed a big firepit, a stage and benches for at least a hundred kids and today we brought in lumber, manhandled the rounds cut by Lions the last weekend, put it into place, screwed everything together and got it ready for our kids.
Well done Auburn Noon Lions!
