Former Azle Hornet Powerlifter killed it at the Collegiate Nationals and finished 4th in the nation in his weight class. Congratulations Andrew!

The THSWPA just released their Academic All State Honors. Big congratulations to Raegan Williams and Hannah Johns!

Excited to see these ladies compete at state in Frisco on March 16th!

What an amazing year for our girls powerlifting program! This year we have:
-32 regional qualifiers
-11 of 12 scored lifters scored points at the regional meet
-3 Regional Champions
-4 State Qualifiers

The awesome thing is that we only have 2 seniors this year. The future is very bright!

The boys closed out the Regional Meet tied for 3rd, lost on a double tie breaker to get 4th place as a team in the region. We had four boys qualify for state. The season isnt over but the team has already broken many of our all time program records:

District Champs (1st ever)
5 Individual District Champions
12 Regional Lifters
2 Individual Regional Champions
Finished #4 as a team in the region
11 Lifters finished top ten in the region
4 State qualifiers
4 Academic All-State

The Lady Hornet Powerlifting Team won the Regional Meet on Thursday! Mckynleigh Sisk and Dakota Donaldson placed 5th. Cooper Yates placed 4th. Ryleigh Myers, Paizlee Gray, Haley Carlson, and Giselle Redding placed 3rd. Kyndal Robbins placed 2nd and qualified for state. Ella Swaim, Raegan Williams, and Emma Sustala all finished 1st and qualified for state. We had 32 girls compete, and all had PRs. Very proud to be your coach!

It was an amazing weekend for Azle Girls Powerlifting. The team went to 2 meets in 2 days, and 29 different girls got the opportunity to compete. The girls took home 14 medals, and we have 32 girls going to regionals. Proud of you ladies!

Azle High School Powerlifting had a great day at the Texas A&M Aggie Showdown! Our girls’ team is bringing home 10 medals and boys’ team is bringing home 7! 💪

The Lady Hornet Powerlifters competed at Boswell Wednesday night. All of our lifters competed well. Michelle Lechuga and Giselle Redding finished 2nd in their weight classes, and Macie Baker and Dakota Donaldson finished 3rd in their weight classes. Great job ladies!

Against 11 schools and almost 100 lifters, the Hornet Boys Powerlifters won the Stephenville Justin Monk Invitational by 18 points last week (sorry, final results were delayed)

The Lady Hornet Powerlifting Team competed in Stephenville last Thursday and finished 2nd as a team. Jessie Johnson finished 1st in her weight class, Rylie Myers and Ella Swaim finished 2nd in their weight classes, and Emma Sustala finished 3rd in her weight class. Way to go ladies.

For 7 straight years the Azle Hornet Boys Powerlifting team has won our home meet. Last night was a great night for all our lifters. All 12 "A" team lifters scored points and we came away with both "best lifter awards"; in fact Azle took 5 of the top six places for best lifters. Great job fellas!

Thank you so much to the parents, AHS staff volunteers, coach volunteers, student volunteers, boosters, Domino's Pizza and MrJims.Pizza in Azle, and our many other community sponsors. It is quite the undertaking to pull off back-to-back powerlifting meets. We had over 80 volunteers and 182 lifters. Thank you City of Azle, Azle ISD, and Azle Athletics for supporting our kids and coaches.

The Lady Hornet Powerlifters took home 2nd place as a team at our home meet. We are extremely proud of all of our lifters and look forward to setting PR's the rest of the season.

Ryleigh Myers, Ella Swaim, Raegan Williams, Cooper Yates, and Ryann Baker finished 1st in their weight class. Kyndal Robbins, Haley Carlson, and Jessie Johnson took home 2nd in their weight class. Mckynleigh Sisk, Hannah Johns, and Ryleigh Cire all finished 3rd in their weight class. Raegan Williams also received the best overall lifter award for the light platforms. We are so proud of all our Lady Hornet lifters, and we look forward to the rest of the season.

The boys had a great night last night at Brock and finished first as a team. In addition to the lifters that medaled we had Diesel Fields 181 (4th), Christian Dehoyas 198 (4th), and Brodie Nelson 220 (4th). We also took best lifter in both weight categories.

TOMORROW'S LIFTERS. We will get equipment tomorrow (Thursday) AM at 7:00. We will be dismissed to come to the field house at 3:30 (15 minutes into 8th), it is your responsibility to get work and inform your teacher you will need to leave. We need to be wheels up and gone before 4:00.

The weight room will be open over the break, December 27-29 and Jan 2-5 from 10AM-Noon. These are NOT required workouts, if you are in town and can be here, come in and lift. If you cannot be here, then enjoy the break and the family time.
