With Kern County heat waves soaring up into the triple digits, more and more families are cooling off by the pool. Water conservation might not be the first thing on your mind during pool time, but following some simple tips can help you save both water and money. π©±π
1. Cleaning your pool can conserve water.
-Keeping your pool clean from debris saves you from having to clean a dirty filter as often
2. Cover your pool to keep temperatures low.
- Keeping your pool temperature low reduces the evaporation process and helps prevent contamination.
3. Do not overfill your pool.
- Overfilling your pool can waste liters of water due to splashing, kicking, and overuse of the hose. Make sure to only fill the water no higher than halfway to your pool's filter system.
