Our CTE team participated at the 45th Annual Statewide California Hispanic Chamber Ms of Commerce this past weekend. Over 1,250 executives, business owners, corporate executives, community leaders, and elected officials from across the United States came together for this important event. In the western region, this is the biggest assembly of diverse and Hispanic small business owners and community leaders. CTE was present, with the goal to show our support and share informative details about our CTE programs.

🗯️The Kern Economic Development Foundation (KEDF) is looking for a dynamic individual to be a key player in workforce development initiatives. The applicant must be enrolled full-time in a two-year college program or above. Over the course of the academic year, the time commitment is roughly five hours each week.

In order to create a strong talent pipeline for Kern County, KEDF collaborates with partners in the business, education, and community sectors on STEM-related programs and projects.

The intern will have the chance to support Kern County Women in STEM (KCWIS) program development. The goals of KCWIS are to reach professional women in STEM fields throughout Kern County, support them in developing their professional skills and advancing their careers, and offer networking opportunities in both business and academia.

On November 14th the Bakersfield College Career Education Team partnered with the Education Department to connect students interested in pursuing careers in education with local employers. With support from Job Development Specialist Jasmine Gutierrez, students were prepared to discuss employment opportunities and job requirements over dinner.
