The CSUB Alumni Association is accepting nominations for its CSUB Alumni Hall of Fame, which recognizes alumni who’ve distinguished themselves in their careers, volunteered their time and talent or leveraged their resources to benefit their community and bring honor to this university.

Any member of the public may submit a nomination. A committee of CSUB Alumni Association board members, university faculty and a president’s designee will select inductees. We look for candidates who have made CSUB proud through one or more of these distinctions:

• Significant career accomplishments
• Impactful philanthropic work
• Support for and involvement with CSUB

Proceeds fund scholarships for CSUB alumni working toward their graduate degree on campus and alumni-student mentoring initiatives. You do not have to be a CSUB alum to attend, but you must be 21 and over.

On May 1st, we had the privilege of seeing alumnus Jeremy Villanueva speak at our Flag Raising Ceremony to honor our fallen veterans. Jeremy was joined by alumna Jocelynn Moore, both flying out from Virginia to join us for this occasion. We are grateful for our veteran alumni, and would like to give appreciation as we observe Memorial Day.

The CSUB Alumni Association and community honor the valiant hearts and heroic spirits of our veterans, especially our veteran alumni, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our nation. Your bravery and dedication continue to inspire us. You are forever remembered, forever honored. 🇺🇸

The curtains close on another successful year of the `Runner Alumni Mentor Program (RAMP), an initiative which pairs our bright students with esteemed alumni mentors. We celebrated the culmination of our 2023-2024 class cycle with an end-of-year celebration.

The event was a vibrant testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and their mentors. It is with pride and emotion that we watched our mentors bestow our graduating students with blue and gold cords - a symbol of their commitment and achievements. These cords will add a special touch to their graduation garb and serve as a reminder of the invaluable connections forged and lessons learned through RAMP.

Graduating students recounted their mentorship experiences, inspiring and painting a vivid picture of RAMP's profound impact on their personal and professional growth. Special recognition was given to our Mentors of the Year, Jeremy Villanueva and Fred Plane; Mentee of the Year, Fatyma Cendejas; and Honorable Mention from the 2022-2023 RAMP Class, Berenice Lopez. Their contributions have shown the remarkable potential of dedicated mentor-mentee relationships.

As we bid farewell to another class, we look forward to continued success of our mentorship program and the lifelong connections it fosters. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to RAMP's success - our alumni mentors, dedicated students, and supportive staff. Together, we have built a legacy of excellence and connectedness at CSUB.

The Alumni Association was thrilled to sponsor the Bakersfield Museum of Art and attend last evening’s Art Mix, an event showcasing local and regional (and alumni) artists. We are always happy to give our support to the arts in Bakersfield and surrounding communities as well as promote educational opportunities for aspiring artists. We especially love to see our alumni flourish and inspire through their artistic contributions.

We're throwing it back to this past Saturday's Alumni Slugger Social event. It was nothing but home runs and good times with our alumni family and friends. Thanks to everyone who came out to the ballgame. We can't wait to hang out again soon. Go, `Runners!
