Our history
The Baltimore Latino American community has called the Baltimore Metropolitan region their home since the 1960’s. During the 1980’s Cubans and Puerto Ricans started to move to the East Side of Baltimore around Broadway and Eastern Avenue.
During the 1990’s Central Americans from Mexico, Hondurans, El Salvador started to move through the Eastern Ave corridor to Highland Town and Greek Town.
From the 2000’s until today Latinos continue to move to the area from the Caribbean Central and South America including from Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia etc.
Today the Latino Community thrives and continues to grow as more Latinos continues to move to the area, opening up many businesses, purchasing new homes through the City of Baltimore and surrounding counties. through out the years, many 1st and 2nd generations of Latinos Americans have move away from the city of Baltimore in searches of a better leaving, safety, jobs, schools as other other immigrants communities have done through out the history of the City.
