The MENTOR MD|DC team is proud to have our Operations Manager, Renee Angelo-Mauk, team up with Julie Meyer and Jimmy Edgerton from AugMentors Podcast and talk about the role of gratitude in fostering strong and impactful mentoring connections.
As AugMentor has stated, "Gratitude is more than just saying thank you - it's about recognizing and appreciating the value that your mentor brings to your personal and professional growth. When you express gratitude to your mentor, it not only shows your appreciation for their guidance and support but also strengthens the bond between you."

This workshop is designed for adults who are interested in becoming more “askable” and supportive for the children and youth in their lives. Being an askable adult means you are approachable and easy for children and youth to talk to about anything that’s on their mind.
This workshop was created by the Vermont Network after a 2017 survey of 584 Vermont youth where the majority of young people said that the number one solution to coping with the various anxieties in their lives would be having access to more supportive and “askable” adults. Make sure that YOU are an Askable Adult!

MENTOR’s Advocate Academy trains individuals to develop their personal policy and advocacy skills to become more civically engaged citizens and effective advocates for the issues they care about. The Academy is a free skill and professional development opportunity that is open to anyone interested in attending, including youth. While the curriculum is tailored to people connected to the mentoring/youth development space, the skills and issues covered in these trainings can be applied universally to educate, advocate, and effectively influence policymaking.
The Academy consists of three separate hour-long, interactive virtual learning sessions that must be attended by the individual in its entirety in order to move on to the next course. After each session, attendees will receive an optional supplemental reading and brief assignment that must be submitted in order to move on to the next course.
Graduates of the program (those who complete all three courses) will receive a certificate, reward, and networking opportunities with the mentoring movement’s most engaged advocates.
