Home | Office of State Fire Marshal Welcome to the Office of Maine State Fire Marshal The mission of the Office of State Fire Marshal is to prevent loss of life and property for those that live, work and visit the State of Maine. Our goal is to protect against the devastation of fire, explosions and life safety hazards with integrity....
Please consider supporting Firefighter Tyler McDermott from the Wells Fire Department as he bravely battles cancer. Your generous support will help Tyler and his family with medical expenses and provide much-needed assistance during this challenging time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tyler, his family, friends, and the entire Wells Fire Department as they support one of their own through this difficult journey.

Today marks the 5 year anniversary of the tragic incident that resulted in the loss of Captain Michael Bell. Several other firefighters and a LEAP employee were severely injured as well. The events of this day changed our department forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with all that where affected by this tragic event. We will never forget that day and continue to honor the memory of Capt. Bell.
We are forever grateful for the support that our members and their families received from our community, emergency responder's medical professionals, and the fire departments from across the state of Maine, who stepped up to help us during that difficult time. Most importantly the sacrifice and dedication that our members, make on a daily basis to continually serve the citizen's of our community.
