š«social media ā therapy, everything here is for entertainment. For legal reasons these are jokes.
The visibility of Gus Walz throughout the country right now is bringing me to tears. Thatās a neurodivergent child who was taught his emotions are valuable. That heās not too much. That there will always be room for him. That he is deeply loved exactly as he isš„¹
Millions of us felt seen, accepted, and loved in that moment right alongside himš¤
Gus Walz melted hearts at the DNC, putting neurodiversity in the spotlight As a teen, he was diagnosed with nonverbal learning disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and anxiety.
Be wary of people only concerned about how you reacted without being curious about what triggered it.
At the same time, be wary of your own tendency to only focus on the trigger and not on your response.
A gentle reminder: Itās not anyone elseās responsibility to decode unclear communication or unspoken resentments. Passive aggressive āhintingā is not a substitute for voicing concerns. One of the kindest things you can offer in any interpersonal relationship is clear communication.
The nuance here is: not every person will be receptive to your concerns or vulnerability. Hard conversations will always have that risk.
Many people ARE absolutely worth the risk.

š«social media ā therapy nor a replacement, everything here is for educational or entertainment purposes only!
I am so sorry for all of the times you were convinced you deserved to make yourself smaller to make others more comfortable.
For all the times you tried to advocate for yourself and left feeling unheard and misunderstood.
For all the times the world made you feel you were broken because youāre different.
For all the times you werenāt believed and felt alone.
I see you. I believe you.
And you are worthy of relationships that make you feel whole exactly as you are.š«š¤
Hereās hoping we can all hold space for the āboth/andā of being alive.

Your weird is your magic, friendsāØ
So excited to announce that this summer Iāve opened up my own private practice supporting people like me who often feel āotheredā, judged, and misunderstood. I want you to know that YOU are the expert in YOU, and I honor that every step of the way. I find joy helping folks like you trying to find your place, better understand yourself, protect your peace, and develop skills to live your best, unmasked life!
I bring authenticity, lived experience, and humor into the room to build safety and genuine connection through the therapeutic relationship.
Clinically I use an eclectic approach based on your individual needs, and am always learning more skills to improve your experience. A few of my favorite techniques are Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique), parts work using Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and emotion regulation skills. I am also an ADHD Certified Clinical Service Professional and have a great deal of passion for working with others with brains that this world was not built for!
If youāre in Louisiana and looking to connect with your best self within a safe but honest therapeutic relationship built on authenticity and radical compassion, you can go to the š in my bio, send me an email, or give me a call.
I absolutely canāt wait to meet you.

If everybody likes you, itās less likely youāre being your authentic self. That doesnāt mean your authentic self isnāt likable. Itās more that, if everybody likes you, youāre probably holding back parts of yourself to please others. Or putting up masks that make you more palatable to others.
I want to challenge you to try something. Next time you ask yourself āwhy donāt they like me?ā Ask yourself if YOU actually like THEM. Ask yourself why they matter. Ask yourself who matters more.
When we stop focusing on convincing others weāre worthy, we can start focusing on appreciating the people who already see our worth.
P.s. Iām taking new clients! Iād love to chat about how I can support you in your journey to self compassion, healthy boundaries, and embracing authenticityš¤

Itāsā¦a lot to become someone you havenāt yet met.
It is ok if you donāt know who that is or what theyāll be like.
And itās ok to pivot and adjust as you become.
Just, whatever you do, keep going.

Lauren Roberts, LPC, Director of Mental Health Development and our partner Chelsea Borruano, CEO & Founder You Aren't Alone Project were on WAFB live this morning talking about mental health, art, and our partnerships that focus the intersection of both.
It was a really beautiful opportunity, and weāre so grateful to WAFB Channel 9, Matt Williams, and Liz Koh for providing us with a platform that felt welcoming and safe to have such vulnerable conversations and get the word out that if youāre struggling, I promise - youāre not alone.
Please head to the link in our or bios to see about submitting to our ongoing art gallery, and to enter into the big Live Art Event in 2024 or follow along to be part of the journeyš¤

I challenge you to also disconnect where you can, and to create space for the things in life you genuinely care about. Donāt forget to set and stick to your boundaries for the holidays, be patient with yourselves, and eat whatever you want!

Let them š
Let them be wrong.
Let them misunderstand you.
Let them judge you.
Let them make mistakes.
Let them count you out.
Let them believe what they want.
Let them fail.
Let them miss out.
Let them leave.
You donāt need to convince them of your worth. You donāt need them to validate your pain. You donāt need them to understand you when they are committed to doing otherwise. You donāt need to save them from themselves. You donāt need to fix, resolve, intervene, or correct.
The people in your life that want to be there will be there. Yes theyāll make mistakes and sometimes say the wrong thing (so will you) and there will be conflict. But they will keep working on it with you.
If they decide they are done doing their part and theyāre walking away?
