Tech and Teachability
š©·Baton RougešTechnology TeacheršCoffee Drinker š©µDisney Fanš¤Lover of food, fun, glitter, & moreš Hi friends!
I have made a change in my professional life from first grade to teaching technology in the upper grades. My name change from Pride and Primary adequately represents my new venture. I will still be focusing a lot of my time and effort to creating products for all grades, primary to middle, and I will continue to share articles pertinent to all levels of teaching.
Meal prepping has changed my life. I have been prepping consistently for over a year now and it helps set me up for success throughout the week. This week is only three days for me, but I still had to do something so Iām not constantly going to the fridge and staring into oblivion, hoping that something will materialize out of nowhere that I can eat.
Being a teacher, I know the importance of planning so meal prep has definitely been a great part of my weekend plans so that I donāt have to think so much during the week. Make sure to check out my various meal plans available for free at the link in my profile. While I do follow ultimate portion fix from BODi, the meal plans can be adapted to your individual eating styles. And your snacks can obviously vary drastically from mine.

Today was the first day of LEAP testing!! After meticulously planning the classes and the small groups and the testing binders we pulled the cord and let it rip. Finished around 1:30ish so not bad for a first day. I again provided delicious cookies for the test admins so they only hate me like 90% of the time. Take a look at these prescription pill cookies and grab yourself a free copy of the tag and a how to guide at the link in my profile. Yes, I have FULL faith in your ability to make these super simple cookies.
This is your 6 month reminder to get your bo***es checked. And you should regularly be checking those bad boys anyway. Smoosh āem and feel āem up real good. If you have a family history like I do, you get to have these super fun MRIs where you lay on your belly with a hard bar between the ladies PERFECTLY still for twenty minutes with an IV in your arm. Good times.
Sundays are for coffee and meal prep. Still on a high from the week in NYC. Had a great time and learned some new things to bring back to school. Ready to go into the week ahead.
Today I presented at the 2024 Magnet Schools of America National Conference! My presentation was āTechnology in the Artsā and I got to share all of these activities Iāve done with kids over the years and how it can be incorporated into all subject areas and across the arts disciplines. Would you like a copy of my presentation? Check my link in my profile!
Talk about a totality of disappointment today. Stupid clouds and rain were in the way of the eclipse so the world didnāt end today and none of us got superpowers. Eclipse, schmiclipse. Whatever.
We are participating in a Disney Imagination Campus program at Saratoga Springs this morning! Itās super exciting that our kiddos get to out all theyāve learned at our school about performing and putting on productions. They are doing us so proud! Theyāve been able to answer every question the Teaching Artist has asked and they have met every warm up exercise with gusto and exceeded. This workshop is called Broadway Magic and we will get to put on one scene from Frozen The Broadway Musical.
Only a few more days until our Imagination Campus field trip to Walt Disney World!! Today is also the last day of school before spring break. And we have our kindergarten production AND the arts showcase tonight! Busy day. Also, thatās my emotional support 3 mile long merchandise tag. Happy Friday Eve!!
This may or may not be me at the moment. Iāve been packing LEAP binders and baskets. So not having fun š One more day!!!!
Happy Pi Day!!

Are you ready for the Super Bowl? What are you watching for?
WHY IS IT STILL JANUARY?!?!? Longest month ever. This has been the longest week ever. So happy that itās Friday and that February starts next week.
I am so excited!!!! Today was our first Disney workshop for our upcoming Imagination Campus trip. The kids are doing wonderful for the first go round. We will be participating in Broadway Magic and excited to bring out our brand of BRCVPA magic to Walt Disney World in April. Iām working on a post about how to bring your own group of kids to Disney to experience a terrific behind the scenes adventure in the Most Magical Place on Earth. Definitely not a normal field trip.
Such an amazing opportunity for Louisiana educators! By the end of the school year, we're aiming to train 1,000 teachers in coding, robotics, and more, equipping them to spark a digital revolution in classrooms across the state!
So Iām doing my first Code.org workshop facilitation today at for the Ignite Project. We are hoping to train 1,000 educators in the state of Louisiana by the end of the school year. Weāve got 32 educators here today so we are slowly chipping away at the thousand goal so let me know if you are interested in bringing a workshop to your teachers!
I still say this. But I have to admit that my drawing has gotten better over the years. š
I feel seen. I said this every time! š

An oldie but a goodie. I first shared this in 2018 which seems like a literal lifetime ago š so much has happened in the past six years that I sometimes wonder what timeline we are currently living in. Iām on what feels like day 3 of winter break, but itās more like almost over I think. Monday, maybe?? Whatever. Iāve done all of this. Imma miss the cookies.

Who is ready for Christmas? I know several of my teacher friends are still working this week and Iām so sorry!! Youāre in my thoughts. We had family Christmas yesterday because Iāll be flying to Florida to spend Christmas day with Carly Summer in Orlando at Disney World!! Our Jammieās this year were glow in the dark snowflakes, and everybodyās shirt was a different type of flake. We had a blast! And as you can see itās extremely difficult to get everyone looking and smiling at once š
I didnt get a chance to print, address, or mail Christmas cards this year, and Iām already out of time this weekend and I wonāt have any time before family Christmas on Sunday or before I leave for Florida so hereās our digital card. Merry Christmas everyone!!
Soooooā¦..
My office flooded today. How was your day?
We made it to December!! Just ten more days before winter break and the calendar is packed as always. Whatās your month looking like?
Always a classic!! Though todayās traffic slowed this roll a bit š©
