1) Apply waterproof UVA/UVB sunscreen to your feet, especially the top.

2) Take along a small foot care kit when traveling. Cut nails straight across to avoid ingrown toenails!

3) Prevent fungal infections. Wear breathable cotton socks and change them often.

4) To prevent injuries, Limit walking barefoot and wear shoes or flip-flops around the pool, on the beach, and even on the carpeting of your hotel room.

5) Promote blood flow by frequently moving and flexing your ankles, stretching your calves, and moving your toes.

6) Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day and eating foot-friendly foods. Salty foods can cause your feet to swell and become bloated. Sugars can also cause foot puffiness, so minimize your intake of that, too.

This week is all about healthy bodies, hard exercise, a good diet, and regular doctor visits. It’s part of National Men’s Health Month, a month-long recognition of men’s health with activities and events reminding men to care for their bodies.

Each year, the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) recognizes the second Saturday in June as Family Health & Fitness Day. This day is an opportunity for people to discover the numerous ways to stay fit and active that are provided by local parks and recreation departments.

Whether you’re a regular runner or a bit of a novice, it doesn’t matter; this holiday is about inspiring each other to lead a more active lifestyle, no matter the distance covered. This celebration is open and free to everyone. Grab your running shoes and a water bottle, and get your legs moving!

June is Women's Golf Month! Golf is often seen as a sport played mostly by men, but plenty of women also love golf. This month is about celebrating female golfers and bringing more women into the sport!

Each year, from June 1-7, National CPR and AED Awareness Week stresses the importance of CPR and AED use. When someone goes into sudden cardiac arrest, every second counts.

How do you receive CPR and AED training? Many people receive training from the Red Cross. You can sign up for classes or get recertified through them.

The more people who get training in CPR, the more lives that may be saved!
