If you want augmentation of your chin while keeping your natural chin shape, if you don't want to have a prosthetic in your face, and if your occlusion (bite) is otherwise good, then YES!
I do genioplasties and chin implants about equally in my practice. Surprisingly, the recovery is not too burdensome. Takes about 2 weeks for major swelling to decrease, about 4 months for the bone to fuse. Small titanium screws and plates are used to secure the bone in its new position, and oftentimes, bone graft putty is used to fill in the gap until new bone grows in. Risks and benefits should be discussed during a consultation before deciding whether genioplasty is the right decision for you.

Natural face/neck lift & fat transfer for a patient whose goal was to look more refreshed! She wasn't bothered by the ways her eyes appeared, so we opted to skip periorbital (around the eye) rejuvenation at this time. The patient was gracious to share her photos, including the early recovery.

Our eyes have a natural propensity to perceive beauty in the balance and harmony of the face as a whole rather than individual parts of the face, such as eyes or nose, being "perfect" in form, or symmetry.
When I assess face, I utilize the facial vertical thirds to determine a long face shape (dolicocephalic) or a short face (brachycephalic). I also utilize the vertical line crossing the most forward point of the glabella and the subnasale to assess the facial profile to see whether the nose is overprojected, chin is underprojected, and vise versa.
This beautiful patient had an open rhinoplasty, custom chin implant, and platysmaplasty (neck lift). Due to her anatomy, liposuction was not the answer to creating a nice chin-throat angle.

About UPPER BELPHAROPLASTY✨️
The upper eyelid rejuvenation procedures can involve various parts such as removing excess skin, addressing volume (removing fat or adding fat or filler in the upper eyelid hollows), supratarsal crease formation (double eyelid surgery), ptosis correction, etc.
It's important to know the history of any prior eye surgery or eye/eyelid condition. Also important to evaluate the brow position, upper eyelid strength and filler history. It's best to evaluate without the fake eyelashes.
This surgery can be done as a standlone procedure under local anesthesia, or combined with a browlift, or as part of a whole face rejuvenation under sedation/general anesthesia.
Recovery is about 1 week. Incision generally heals really well, cosmetically hidden in the eyelid crease.

This was a particularly difficult case presented with nasal droop, over-projection, crookdness, ill-defined tip, and thin skin. I performed 2 rhinoplaties on her. The patient desired a revision at around one-year mark to address residual cosmetic and breathing concerns.

When patients return for a revision despite their dissatisfaction from the first round, I take that as a sign of trust and ongoing favorable relationship. This is a case by case scenario, and I sometimes cannot offer to do a revision with confidence if I honestly felt that I have done everything I know how to do and could have done. In this case, I agreed with the patient that I could do better, and I am glad we made further improvements that suit her face. 🩷

This patient felt that her nose was short, bulbous, and upturned, and she desired cosmetic improvement. I've elongated her nose and refined the tip by:
1. Septal extension graft
2. Separation at the scroll area between the upper and lower lateral catrilages
3. Conservative cephalic trim
4. Various suture techniques of the lower lateral cartilages
5. Conservative thinning of the fibrofatty tissue at the nasal tip and the supratip region

A conservative custom chin/jawline implant with platysmaplasty (neck lift). This is a 1.5 year post operative result of an out-of-state patient who was finally able to follow up in person.
The custom implant was designed and fabricated based on the patient's CT scan. It was placed through the mouth and secured onto the jaw bone with tiny titanium screws. Initially most patients feel that their implant is "too large" but the swelling disappears and results settle usually at 4-6 month mark. He was a champ through his recovery, and I truly appreciate his generosity to share his results.

Lower blepharoplasty (aka "eyebag" surgery) with fat transfer to the cheeks and CO2 resurfacing, seen about 3 months post op.
In addition to re-arranging and reducing the orbital fat, having additional fat transferred to the cheeks helped restore the mid-face volume for a natural rejuvenation of the upper-mid face. Laser resurfacing reduced the fine lines and improved the skin texture.

🌟 Genioplasty 🌟 to enhance and balance the facial proportions. A vertical line drawn through the upper lip as a reference point; the chin projection should be slightly behind that line in a feminine facial profile.
I moved the chin bone to increase its projection and to rotate it clockwise (down) slightly to achieve a tapered chin shape. Recovery is about 2 weeks of swelling, requires good oral hygiene and soft non-chew diet.

Revision rhinoplasty results at about 6 months post op. I removed her old silastic nasal implant that shifted and caused:
1. An unnatural radix height and angle (area between the eyebrows where the nose takes off from the forehead)
2. A blunted nasal tip.
3. A deviation of the implant toward the left that made the nose appear slightly tilted.
I augmented the dorsum with diced cartilage glue graft made from her rib and gave more projection and definition at the tip.

OTOPLASTY || ear pinning.
The goals of this procedure were to bring the ears closer to her head by defining the fold (antihelix) and by reducing the enlarged cartilage of the co**ha.
She was nervous that the surgery would make her look "too different" or unnatural, which is why she has put it off for so long. She finally had the courage to do it with me! And she is happy that the results made a natural difference. I think it looks most natural when the entire ear is folded to an appropriate distance from the scalp. This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia.
