We had quite a light show in Bend last night with the colors of the aurora being more vivid than I've ever seen here (which is never). In fact the files were so vivid that I had to desaturate them in order to not appear too fake! NOAA is calling for a repeat KP-9 performance tonight and I'm looking forward to another shot at it.

After the new moon's spectacular performance in the total solar eclipse, it took an encore bow at sunset last night with another shout of Psalm 19:1 ... "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands!"

Happy Easter! May the magnitude of God's love expressed in the resurrection victory of Jesus fill you with great joy and wonder and thanksgiving on this most glorious day!

It was the darkest day in human history. The Son of God hung dead on a Roman cross, crucified by the very people He came to save. Now we call it “Good Friday” because we know that it was on the cross that Jesus defeated Satan, sin and death. But then, for a time, it was the unspeakable loss of all light and hope in the world. Today then, for awhile, let’s live with the awful passion of Christ, and consider what it cost God to atone for our sin and give us the joy that we know as Easter.
