Repost from !
We are so excited to announce the theme for Fall 2022 PASO is Endless PASObilities! ๐คฉ๐
This theme shines a light on the fact that incoming students will be entering a new space/environment where they have access to anything and everything. Hopefully, PASO will help them envision how they want to navigate their time here at UC Berkeley.
PASO is the orientation that PASS (Pilipinx Academic Student Services) hosts every semester to introduce the incoming Pilipinx/Pilipinx American Students to not only Campus resources, but also the Pilipinx/Pilipinx American community and show them Pilipinx-specific resources such as orgs on campus, connections, etc...
With these past two years being virtual, we will need all the support we can get to ensure that this year's PASO goes well and helps these incoming students find ease in their transition into UC Berkeley. Join PPC now and/or stay tuned for the volunteer form!!! ๐ฅฐ

We hope everyone is enjoying their winter break!
For folks looking to share some creative energy, we are excited to share Asian American Political Activation Program's first ever zine: ๐๐๐๐!
๐๐ช๐ฃ๐ฐ is an art zine to explore how the Asian American community can use activism to heal and hope for a better future together.
In honoring the immense loss of these past two years, Kibo is inspired by its dual meaning - "breaking the silence" and "speaking up" in Tagalog and "hope" in Japanese, to allow members of the community to use creative outlets to process, heal, and connect.
To learn and submit, go to bit.ly/KiboZine. Deadline is January 31st!

Eastwind Books has joined forces with to bring you this exclusive virtual poetry event. ๐ ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐๐ข๐ช๐ฏ emerges in defiance of the dominant explanation offered by American Scientists, and restores a narrative of a discredited and ignored people. Wielding words as semantic siphons in poems that sing and challenge, Vang restores a vital narrative in danger of being lost, and brilliantly explores what it means to have access to the truth and how marginalized groups are often forbidden that access. This is an event you definitely donโt want to miss!!!
Thank you to our other event cosponsors, and

Over the last two days, 26 Palestinians, including nine children, were killed by a barrage of Israeli airstrikes and hundreds of others were injured. Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah continue to be forced out of their homes by the Israeli government while protestors are being brutalized by police for protesting these evictions. Over 300 Palestinians were injured in the attacks at Al Aqsa (Islamโs third-holiest site) on Friday during the evening prayers during the holy month of Ramadan.โ
โ
In Kabul, Afghanistan, over 80 people were massacred this weekend in bombings targeting the Hazara Shiโa community, many of them girls and young women. โ
โ
As an office that is working to support SSWANA students, APASD unequivocally condemns the violations of human rights that is occurring in Gaza, the forced evictions of Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah, and the loss of Palestinian and Afghan lives caused by coordinated airstrikes and bombings. We recognize this is a difficult time for Palestinian and Afghan students, staff, and faculty at UC Berkeley as we mourn the lives lost and communities continue to live in fear of escalating violence. Weโre grieving with you, and weโre here to offer you whatever support we can on campus. [Above text included in image 2]โ

University Health Services joins the rest of UC Berkeley in expressing our compassion and solidarity with the Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities in the face of the most recent attacks both locally (in the Bay Area and most recently in Atlanta) and around the globe.
We condemn these attacks. These are not isolated events and since the start of the pandemic, we have witnessed a frightening increase in acts of anti-Asian violence, xenophobia, and harassment, which painfully compounds the historic invisibility, systemic erasure, and othering experienced by AAPI communities.
UHS has counselors who specialize in working with API and SSWANA students if youโre interested in talking with someone. Visit uhs.berkeley.edu/apisupport.
Weโre hiring for the 21-22 academic year!
Submit your application by 3/29 at linktr.ee/apasday22.
