Pacific Center for Human Growth
Our Mission: To enhance the mental health and well-being of the LGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC communities by Pacific Center for Human Growth
Hey Locals, Come on over to Pacific Center on Saturday!
Dear CA folx, and especially mental health professionals,
The Pacific Center clinical program needs a group supervisor (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Or PsYD) for our upcoming cohort, preferably someone who is part of our BIPOC and/or LBTQIA+ communities or at least informed/ally. Group supervision happens every Thursday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. If you know of someone who may be interested in becoming part of our team please let me know.
Thank you!
Palestinian Solidarity & Anti-Genocide Statement!
Pacific Center for Human Growth stands in solidarity with the people of Palestine and all LGBTQIA+ communities and allies that are saying “NO” to the ongoing US-funded genocide of Palestinians. We mourn for the lives lost, and demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire and end to the siege in Gaza. We urge all levels of the US government and its institions to stop funding and supplying the Israeli Occupying Forces, send desperately needed humanitarian aid, and bring an end to the genocide. Every day we delay action against genocide means more lives lost.
Pacific Center stands by the fierce and brave groups and individuals who continue to organize and mobilize on behalf of Palestinian liberation. We stand in solidarity with q***r and trans Palestinians! We reject all forms of pink and rainbow washing used to conceal the terror and violence of Israel’s colonial project and apartheid policies oppressing Palestinians in the name of q***r progress and safety. We join transgender and q***r people around the world saying “NOT IN OUR NAME!” We stand against genocide, including the ongoing genocides in Palestine, Sudan, Congo, Turtle Island, and others worldwide. We encourage all LGBTQIA+ Community Centers to stand in solidarity with us.
In the words of Marsha P. Johnson, "No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us."
In community,
Pacific Center for Human Growth

At tonight's Berkeley City Council meeting, I am introducing a resolution declaring the month of November as and November 20 as in the City of Berkeley 🏳️⚧️
Since I submitted this item three weeks ago, the Human Rights Campaign has updated the number of known incidents of fatal transgender and gender non-conforming violence from 19 to 25. We are grateful to the organizations that provide valuable resources to transgender individuals, such as care navigation, counseling, mentorship, and legal services, including, but not limited to, the Berkeley Free Clinic, East Bay Sanctuary Covenant, Oasis Legal Services, Pacific Center for Human Growth, Partnerships for Trauma Recovery, and UC Berkeley’s Gender Equity Resource Center.
If you would like to provide public comment in support of the resolution (Item 14), please do so during the consent calendar portion of the meeting, which starts at 6 pm at the Berkeley Unified School District Board Room (1231 Addison Street). To participate via Zoom, visit https://cityofberkeleyinfo.zoomgov.com/j/1609523217. We’re here, we’re still q***r, and we’re 50!
As we move toward closing out 2023, the year of our 50th anniversary, we are sharing a final celebration of a half century since the launch of the Pacific Center for Human Growth, the nation's third oldest LGBTQIA+ community center. We are excited to take you on a journey through our evolution from a tiny start-up community center run out of a co-founder's living room to our current incarnation as a preeminent provider of affordable mental health care and peer support services to the Bay Area q***r community.
Ours is a story of determination and vision, courage and creativity, radical inclusivity and deep attunement to the diverse needs of our constituents through the changes and challenges of the last 50 years. From the early days of the LGBTQIA+ rights movement to the heartbreak of the AIDS crisis to the cultural shift that legalized same-sex marriage, we have been a fierce advocate and a stable safety net for our community.
Follow us throughout the week to read more about the center!
Happy Giving Season! See link in our bio to donate and continue to support 50 more years of LGBTQIA+ mental health services!
