Yuck! A new paper in Science Advances confirms consumer goods plastic production is directly linked to plastic pollution.
A five-year analysis of brand audit data revealed that 56 global companies are responsible for more than half of all branded plastic pollution, with the top branded waste attributed to The Coca-Cola Company, PepsiCo, Nestlé, Danone, and Altria/Philip Morris International.
