The Moravian University Art Department would like to celebrate and invite you to join the Open Studio Events for two of our alumni, Emily Strong and Abbey Rosko.

Emily Strong's studio is located at building eleven20 at 1120 Butler St. Easton, PA. Eleven20 is hosting an Open Studio Night on Saturday, April 27th from 6pm-late! Join Emily, meet the resident artists, and have a rare look into their studios and maker's spaces! There will be live music, food, drinks, and ping-pong!

Abbey's studio is located at 22 South 3rd Street Easton, Pa in Room 8 on the second floor. She will have her studio open to the public on April 27th and April 28th from 11am-5pm. If you have any questions for Abbey, please email her at [email protected]

Big Congratulations to our 2024 junior and senior Kappi Pi Honor Society inductees! The ceremony took place in Payne Gallery, on 4/18 just before the opening of the 2024 Senior Thesis Exhibition, still on view through Graduation day.

We hope to see you tonight at Payne Gallery as we celebrate 300 years of Moravian University’s legacy & commitment to education.

This exhibition commemorates the three hundred-year commitment by Moravians to education, from the renewed Church’s first school for children established in Herrnhut, Germany in 1724 to the present-day Moravian University in Bethlehem, PA.

The exhibition will feature a variety of objects and artifacts that illustrate Moravian University's dedication to education, community and tradition.

These objects include antiquities, manuscripts, musical instruments, artwork, and rarely seen archival photographs. The exhibition will also feature didactic material that allows visitors to learn more about the Moravian Church's educational philosophy and the various traditions (expressed through music, food, and festivities) which unite the spirits of persons from globally disparate Moravian communities.

The Moravian University Art Department would like to invite you to our Artists Talks for the Biennial Faculty Show in Payne Gallery featuring the work of the Moravian University’s Art Department faculty members. This exhibition is a testament to the creativity and dedication of the art faculty and their practice. The Artist talks will be held on Wednesday, January 24th from 12:30pm to 4:00pm. We hope to see everyone there!

The Moravian University Art Department would like to invite you to the opening of the Biennial Faculty Show in Payne Gallery featuring the work of the Moravian University’s Art Department faculty members. This exhibition is a testament to the creativity and dedication of the art faculty and their practice. Their work is a vital contribution to the cultural landscape of our community, our campus, and our students. Individually, the Art faculty exhibit their work in national and international venues; the Biennial Faculty Show is a unique opportunity to view their new work collectively.

UPCOMING GALLERY OPENING! Please join the Moravian University Art Department for the opening reception of Magical Seeing at Payne Gallery on Thursday, September 14th at 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Curated by Luke Wynne, the show includes work from Karen Commings, Tom Maher, Emmanuel Monzon, Lori Nix, and Kathleen Ge**er. The exhibition runs through October 15th, 2023.

The Moravian University Art Department would like to announce a virtual gallery opening hosted by Moravian alum and Manifold Global Gallery CoFounder Matthew Pring. They are looking for junior and senior artwork as well as artwork from 2023 graduates from the Lehigh Valley. All entries are due no later than August 31st at 11:59pm and are free to submit.

Moravian University Art Department would like to share a sneak peak at some of our students working in their newly renovated studios on the third and fourth floors in South Hall at the Hurd Campus!

The Moravian University Art Department would like to congratulate 2017 alum Melissa Strom on her first solo gallery exhibition titled Welcome to the Real World at The Gallery at Steel Pixel Studios, 701 N New St, FL1 Bethlehem, PA. There is an opening reception this Thursday, May 25th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. There will be a performance during the reception. We hope to see everyone there!

Moravian University Art Department would like to thank the students and Natessa Amin for their work on the mural located outside of the HILL. The students designed the mural in Natessa's Art in Public Places class. Great job!!
