Citizen RDA Survey 08/29/2024

As follow-up to the tornado watch issued on August 28, Bismarck Emergency Management invites you to become familiar with a damage survey tool for use in communicating damage or impact to your immediate area in the event Bismarck would be impacted by a tornado.
Feel free to experiment with the survey tool via your phone or computer, and report any level of fictional property damage as you wish from any location within the Bismarck or immediate area.
Please access the survey tool here: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/0180e3afb4ff424e901f80f93fa03e20
This is the same survey tool that was announced on August 1, 2024. The purpose of making it available again is to allow more citizens to become familiar with it and to simply give the survey a “trial run.”
For more information about the drill, visit https://www.bismarcknd.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=8464

Citizen RDA Survey This survey is intended to collect information from members of the general public following a disaster to enhance incident or "scene size-up" for purposes of assisting Bismarck's emergency responders.

24-Year-Old Arrested for Gross Sexual Imposition

BISMARCK, ND— A 24-year-old Bismarck man is accused of Gross Sexual Imposition after he was found with a 10-year-old girl walking around the ND State Capitol Grounds yesterday morning.

Officers responded to the State Capitol Grounds around 5:50 am yesterday regarding a 10-year-old girl not home and reporting to a family member through snapchat that she was being sexually assaulted at the State Capitol. Officers located the 10-year-old and 24-year-old Isiah Simms. Through investigation and interviews, Bismarck Police Detectives were able to determine that a sexual assault occurred and arrested Simms.

Simms was taken to Burleigh Morton Detention Center and held on three counts of Gross Sexual Imposition-Sexual Contact-Victim Under 15.

Bismarck Police releases information that will not hinder a successful prosecution. Things that could hinder a successful prosecution are circumstances that led to the crime and specific evidence. This information will come out in a trial, or when the case has been closed. We appreciate the public’s patience as this plays out in the court of law.
