Join Unity South on January 14 as Reverend Stacey offers his aspirational lesson, “Just Imagine What Could Be.” It is good to think of the possibilities ahead but not to struggle with the effort necessary to realize the possible. On this day before the federal observance of the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we can take a clue from his life ministry. He set the example to not be afraid to take the first step on the stairway to a better future even though we believe there will be a lot of work ahead of us. We can take a small, sweet step in the direction of our greater good. Just imagine what could be—and then say, “How can I help?” That is a very practical method for achieving the vision one step at a time.
Jimmy Steffen and Adam Schneider will be our musicians, and Prayer Chaplain Yvette Trotman will lead us in Community Prayer.
Join Unity South on Sunday, January 7th for our White Stone Ritual that completes the holiday season on this Epiphany Sunday. We closed our year on New Year’s Eve emphasizing our willingness to release. Epiphany Sunday celebrates the Magi’s discovery of the Holy Child. In a similar way, the ancient symbol of the “white stone” is our cue to take up our spiritual gifts and usher in abundant good into our lives and into our world. Join Reverend Stacey for his exploratory lesson, “A Whole New World.”
Holly Circle and Jimmy Steffen will be our musicians, and Prayer Chaplain Claire Norman will lead us in Community Prayer.
Join your friends on December 31, at 10:30 am, for the final Sunday Service of 2023. Our Annual Burning Bowl Ceremony will be the feature. Reverend Stacey will guide us in exploring what we can release so we move into 2024 with freedom and renewed energy: “Consider the Possibilities!” In the ceremony, we will focus in meditation on what activity no longer serves us and write it on paper and release it into the transforming fire.
Rich Miller will fill in for our Music Director, Judy Moen, and Bill Mann will be our guest musician. Prayer Chaplain Don Rollefson will lead us in Community Prayer.
Join us on December 24, at 10:30 am, for the Fourth Sunday of Advent on Christmas Eve. The theme is JOY, an energy far greater than happiness. We are happy with the good things we are given—we experience joy when we know what we are! The service will include a candle ceremony, a meditation on the Holy Nativity, and music to inspire us to receive the Christmas Mystery. Reverend Stacey will offer his lesson, “In Simplicity We Behold the Infinite.”
For this service, our friend Jimmy Steffen will fill in for music director Judy Moen, and harpist Loretta Simonet will provide special music. Don Rollefson will lead us in community prayer.
Join us on December 17, at 10:30 am, as Gerald Evans will offer his lesson “Steadfast Love.” On this Third Sunday of Advent, Gerald explores the steadfast love which is an unwavering and enduring commitment to care, support, and cherish another person. It is a love characterized by remaining strong and dependable through both joyful moments and challenging times. It is a love that withstands the tests of time and adversity, rooted in an awareness of the indwelling Christ Spirit.
Music director Judy Moen will lead us in song, joined in special music by vocalist Geoff Jones. Prayer chaplain Don Rollefson will lead us in community prayer.
Join us on December 10, at 10:30 am, as the second week of Advent Season is upon us. This is the adventure to Christmas! Kelli von Heydekampf will offer her lesson on “PEACE – The Inner Journey.” If peace is an inner journey, then having a round map to guide us might be beneficial. Kelli will share her round map for peace and how it relates to dealing with circumstances, challenging relationships and other obstacles that sometimes keep us from our own inner peace.
Music Director Judy Moen lead us in song and joining her will be a vocalist new to singing at Unity South, our friend Janet Flood - Cole. Prayer Chaplain Don Rollefson will lead us in community prayer.
Join us on December 3, at 10:30 am, as the Advent Season begins. This is the adventure to Christmas! Reverend Stacey’s lesson will be “How Do We Transform a Warm Hope into a Creative Faith?” We all hope for something but hope simply energizes our feelings. It requires a step forward in faith to actually create something satisfying in our lives or make a difference in our world. We make progress when we realize that hope is a feeling whereas faith is an action.
Music director Judy Moen will lead us in song, joined in special music by vocalist David Bailey Aldrich. Don Rollefson will lead us in community prayer.
Join us on November 26, at 10:30 am, for our Gratitude Sunday. Reverend Stacey’s lesson will be “The Divine Bounty: Making the Most of the Given!” Eckhart Tolle writes, “Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” We can make the most of what is given by God, our very lives, by appreciating it in a fully conscious way.
Music director Judy Moen will lead us in song with special music by David Malmberg, and prayer chaplain Sharon Rollefsen will lead our community in prayer.
Join us on November 19, at 10:30 am, for our Thanksgiving Sunday. Reverend Stacey’s lesson will be “Gratitude Rules or Principles?” Spiritual wisdom and psychological research show that whatever we focus on, express gratitude for, and praise—increases! The Mother of Unity, Myrtle Fillmore, said “Why not bring forth what we want through praise, which is “gratitude in action!” By examining what we are focused on we will gain insight into the energies, experiences, and excellencies we are attracting or not! This service will include the Dedication (or praise!) of our Unity South Prayer Chaplains for 2024.
Music director Judy Moen will lead us in song along with special music by Steve Landby.
Join us on November 12, at 10:30 am, for our Innovative Sunday Service. On this Sunday, our theme will be “Expressing Gratitude.” You are encouraged to bring a friend whom you truly appreciate. You will have the opportunity to express your appreciation to this person who has added such good to your life. If you cannot be in the same space as that special someone, you could have a photo of them and focus gratitude on it.
Music by Judy Moen, Adam Schneider, Tyler Stromquist-LeVoir and David Cole.
Join us on November 5, at 10:30 am, for our “Annual Remembrance Service.” On this Sunday, close to “All Saints & All Souls Day,” we will dedicate our attention to honoring our departed family, friends, and associates. Guided by leading thoughts and a Candle Ceremony, we will ignite in our mind and hearts a memory of those who have walked this life with us. Not only will we give thanks for the many ways in which they blessed our journey, we will also acknowledge them as living souls who continue their own journey beyond our physical sight.
Music Director Judy Moen will provide music along with special music from Patricia Lacy. Prayer Chaplain Sharon Rollefsen will lead us in Community Prayer.
Join us on October 29, at 10:30 am, for Reverend Stacey’s lesson, “Doubt, Fear, or Scorn of Spirit.” This may seem like a strange theme; however, all of us who consider the spiritual side of life benefit from frequently reviewing our faith. Do we doubt the reality of Spirit? Maybe my prayers and meditations do nothing. Do we fear the power of Spirit over our lives? Perhaps God will punish me. Ultimately, do we resist, resent, even scorn the activity of Spirit in our lives? I want to live my life, my way! Gaining clarity on our spiritual journey through life leads to healing, creativity, and joy. Learn methods to relieve doubt, fear, and resistance to the effects of spiritual principles in your life.
Music Director Judy Moen will provide music with special music by Rich Miller. Prayer Chaplain Yvette Trotman will guide our Community Prayer.
Join us on October 22, at 10:30 am, for a lesson from Gerald Evans: “Prayer Essentials: Nurturing Your Connection with the Divine.” This will be an exploration of the power of prayer and its transformative potential in our lives. Through a deeper understanding of prayer principles and practical application, Gerald invites you on a journey toward spiritual growth, inner peace, and a more profound connection with the Divine.
Judy Moen will provide music with T. Mychael Rambo. Prayer Chaplain Nancy Lee will guide our Community Prayer.
Join us on October 15th at 10:30 am, as Reverend Stacey asks us to consider “Love’s Invitation” and its meaning in our world. Love is not simply an emotion. It is a creative force that inspires and guides us in this world. Let’s consider what we love most in our life and world. Do we take love for granted or appreciate it? Do we assume love will always be there or do we cherish it daily? Do we realize love is the activity of God in our life and in our relationships?
Judy Moen will provide music with special music from Colleen Wold Hiebeler. Prayer Chaplain Yvette Trotman will guide our Community Prayer.
Join us on October 8, at 10:30 am, as Reverend Stacey opens our perspective on possibility: “An Invitation to Abundance.” Author of “The Keys to the Kingdom,” David Owen Ritz asserts, “A life that reflects the quality of true abundance is a life spent pursuing a greater awareness of God and our true spiritual nature. The pursuit of money and possessions for their sake alone will not lead us into greater understanding of such things. On the contrary, the more we seek to share, to learn to trust in life, to love ourselves, and to release ourselves from unhealthy attachment to material things, the more we will enjoy true spiritual freedom and abundance.” Reverend Stacey will present an invitation rather than an obligation for each to reflect what “Abundance” means in our life; and consider any adjustments we choose to make in our daily life to align with the abundance of mind, heart, and action.
Music Director Judy Moen will provide music along with special music from Bruce Menier Bell. Prayer Chaplain Yvette Trotman will guide our Community Prayer.
Join us on Sunday, October 1st at 10:30 am, as Yvette Trotman shares some prayerful steps in lifting up our Spiritual Source towards achieving Inner Peace and Happiness an antidote to worrying. Dare to take the human approach to living in the idea “don’t worry about a thing,” for everything will be alright.
Judy Moen will provide music along with special music by Geoff Jones. Prayer Chaplain Claire Norman will guide our Community Prayer.
Join us on September 17 at 10:30 am, as Reverend Stacey welcomes a new friend to Unity South. Brian Lottman, a traveling Vedic Monk, will offer his perspective on “The Mystical Path.” Brian has been following the mystical path of spirituality since 2006 when he experienced a deep inner transformation, and spiritual energy has continued to flow through him ever since. Now he shares this transmission with others so that they can feel the Silence within also.
Music director Judy Moen will provide music, and Brian will share his music to support our experience of the Silence. Prayer Chaplain Don Rollefson will guide our Community Prayer.
Join us on September 10, 10:30 am, as Reverend Stacey leads an exploration into the omnipresence of Source: “The Three Faces of God.” The great mystery of God is partially understood by our relationship with the Infinite and the Immanent. The presence of God is beyond us, beside us, and within us. Theologian Paul Smith posed this question: Is your God big enough, close enough, and you enough? How we understand our connection with the Creator will determine our sense of protection and creative power.
Judy Moen will provide music along with guest musicians, Holly Circle & Jimmy Steffen. Prayer Chaplain Claire Norman will guide our community in prayer.
Join us on September 3, 10:30 am, as Reverend Stacey poses the question: “God Is In-Charge!” or not? It is an age-old idea that God is in-charge of every detail of this material world. Does that mean we are just puppets controlled by God? And conveniently we can blame God for everything in life that we don’t like or consider to be a catastrophe? You know, “It’s just God’s will.” Unity offers a new concept in which God establishes the creative principles and we work them to form our experiences in the material world. So, guess who takes the blame for negative outcomes? Is it the individual or humanity at large?
Judy Moen will provide music with guest musician, Shawn Hockett. Prayer Chaplain Don Rollefson will guide our Community Prayer.
On August 27, 10:30 am, Unity south will present our Summer Innovative Sunday on "Awakening to Community." Reverend Stacey will chat with Lindy Anderson, Jacqueline Christensen, and Gerald Evans considering the theme of spiritual community and why they have chosen Unity South as their home for many years.
Music director Judy Moen, along with Adam Schneider, David Cole, Nicole Conoryea and Tyler Stromquist-LeVoir will provide special music and lead sing-a-longs!
Join us on August 20th at 10:30 am as Gerald Evans concludes his two-part lesson with “Embracing Our Spiritual Essence.” Part two recognizes our spiritual reality, trust in divine guidance, and inspired action. This talk will weave mature and young truth students together, regardless of age, to allow spirit to work or accomplish the unimaginable.
Judy Moen will provide music along with guest vocalist Patty Peterson. Prayer Chaplain co-leader, Sharon Rollefson, will lead our community in prayer.
