Konbit Kreyol is Florida Atlantic University's Haitian Student Organization that was created in 1990. Haiti is the inspiration. Welcome!
-To provide opportunities for students to develop intellectually, socially, spiritually, emotionally, & physically through a spirit of cooperation & mutual partnership among students, faculty, & staff.
-To provide an atmosphere wherein students feel free to explore alternatives, take risks, gain leadership skills, & to encourage institutional commitment of resources to sufficiently address the varying needs of a diverse, multicultural student body.
The Haitian flag isn't just a symbol of freedom, but one of unity and persistence. Through the face of tragedy, our flag stands high and proud. ๐ช๐พโค๏ธ
First sewed by the god-daughter of Jean-Jacques Dessalines, Catherine Flon. The blue in our flag is said to represent the Haitians of African descent and the red for Gens de couleur (people of color). 219 years later we continue to wave our flags with high pride and today is no different.
Happy Haitian Flag Day from our KK family to yours. โค๏ธ๐
