We had a great first day at the National Eucharistic Congress, and we're ready for Day Two! Come say hi at Booths 1111, 1113, and 1115!

07/17/2024

Day One of the National Eucharistic Congress! We asked our Sisters what they are most looking forward to, and they had all kinds of things to say!

"Our present time and the future of the world are illuminated by Christ's presence and are desperate for his action" (Bl. James Alberione).

Our Sisters have arrived in Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress! We spent today setting up our booth, where we will have information on our life and vocation; books in English, Spanish, and Portuguese; and Sisters available to meet, talk, and pray! If you're there, come see us at Booths 1111, 1113, and 1115!

"Jesus, fill all our powers with yourself. Live in us, so that we may radiate you." (Bl. James Alberione)

07/16/2024

The National Eucharistic Congress starts in less than two days. Tens of thousands of people will be there to learn, pray, and unite around Jesus in the Eucharist. If you're there, make sure you come see us at Booth 1111!

If, like many of us, you are not at the Eucharistic Congress, there are many ways you can participate in this beautiful and historic event from afar. The Congress website will have updates on livestreamed and recorded sessions. One other powerful way to participate is to offer an Hour of Adoration this week for the Eucharistic Congress.

Visit our website for a new and beautiful explanation of how to make an Hour of Adoration, and an Adoration prayer guide: https://daughtersofstpaul.com/discernment/hour-of-adoration-visit-with-jesus-prayer-guide/. We'll be praying right alongside you! God bless you!

Prayer to Saint Paul for Our Nation
O St. Paul, teacher of the Gentiles, watch over with love this nation and its people. Your heart expanded to welcome and enfold all peoples in the loving embrace of peace.
Now, from heaven, may the charity of Christ urge you to enlighten everyone with the light of the Gospel and to establish the kingdom of love.
Inspire vocations, sustain those working for the Gospel, render all hearts docile to the Divine Master.
May this nation ever more find in Christ the Way and the Truth and the Life. May its light shine before the world, and may it always seek the kingdom of God and his justice.
O Holy Apostle, enlighten, comfort, and bless us all. Amen.

In these summer months, our Sisters are taking turns making their annual eight-day silent retreat. Last month we reflected on silence as part of the annual retreat. This month, let’s reflect on listening and the part that listening plays during a time of retreat.

Listening is always extremely important in prayer. During annual retreat, we take extra time to dedicate to listening. But whom are we listening to, or what are we listening for? First and foremost, we are listening to God. We listen to Him in silence, in His Word, in the Eucharist, in the nature that surrounds us...in every part of our day. We also take time to listen to what is on our hearts. What has happened over the past year? How have I reacted to it, thought about it, felt about it? What movements of the Holy Spirit have I felt building in my heart over this year?

These are the types of questions we may be reflecting on, and the types of listening that we will be doing on annual retreat. Listening makes sure that we slow down, pause our racing thoughts, and look at things from God’s perspective. It helps us to get underneath the hustle and bustle of every day, and to understand the meaning behind the things that happen in our life. In fact, the book of Proverbs says, “Turn your ear to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding” (Prov 2:2).

You, too, may wish to take a little extra time for listening over the summer. Our Sisters are praying for you!

Prayer to Live a Eucharistic Life

O mystery of the Father’s incomprehensible love for his children, made known in Jesus through the gift of the Spirit! I contemplate the total gift of yourself to us.

I ask that I may respond with a total gift of self through full participation in the Eucharist.

Participating in your mystery, may I be a living communication of your love to my sisters and brothers. May my life become a liturgy offering glory to you and peace to all men and women. Amen.

Novena to St. Paul Day Nine: Today, on the last day of our novena to St. Paul, let us ask for the grace to be completely transformed by our relationship with Christ, as St. Paul was. We pray in the words of St. Paul: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
⚔️❤️📖
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
⚔️❤️📖
St. Paul the Apostle, pray for us.

06/28/2024

Novena to St. Paul Day Eight: Today we pray for two graces—first, we pray for those who do not know God or who are far from Him, that they may be drawn to Him. Second, we pray that we may believe ever more deeply in God, in His presence, and in eternal life to which He calls us. We pray in the words of St. Paul: “May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know Him better. We pray also that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” (Ephesians 1:15-19)
⚔️❤️📖
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
⚔️❤️📖
St. Paul the Apostle, pray for us.

06/27/2024

Novena to St. Paul Day Seven: Let us pray today for the grace to surrender our weaknesses, our strengths, and our whole life to God, so that He may be present to the world through us. We pray in the words of St. Paul: “‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
⚔️❤️📖
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
⚔️❤️📖
St. Paul the Apostle, pray for us.

06/26/2024

Novena to St. Paul Day Six: Like St. Paul, who always prayed for his collaborators, for those close to him, and for those in great need, today we pray for those in our lives who may be suffering or lonely. We pray in the words of St. Paul: “I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ…and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.” (Philippians 3:8; 10-11)
⚔️❤️📖
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
⚔️❤️📖
St. Paul the Apostle, pray for us.

06/25/2024

Novena to St. Paul Day Five: Let us pray today for the grace to give thanks for all the good things that God has given us, and for God’s presence in the challenging, difficult, and painful things that come our way. We pray in the words of St. Paul: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
⚔️❤️📖
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
⚔️❤️📖
St. Paul the Apostle, pray for us.

06/24/2024

Novena to St. Paul Day Four: Having prayed that we might believe in God’s love, and grow in seeing things through His eyes, today let us pray that we might be enthusiastic for sharing our faith and our hope, like St. Paul. We pray in the words of St. Paul: “We pray that we may be active in sharing our faith, so that we will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ...May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit we may abound in hope.” (Philemon v. 6; Romans 15:13)
⚔️❤️📖
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
⚔️❤️📖
St. Paul the Apostle, pray for us.

06/23/2024

Novena to St. Paul Day Three: Today we pray for the grace to see things with the eyes of God, as St. Paul did more and more throughout his life. We pray in the words of St. Paul: “Let this be our prayer: that our love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that we may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:9-11)
⚔️❤️📖
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
⚔️❤️📖
St. Paul the Apostle, pray for us.

06/22/2024

Novena to St. Paul Day Two: Let us pray today for St. Paul’s deep faith in the love of God for him. We pray in the words of St. Paul: “May we be strengthened, out of His glorious riches, with power through His Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. We pray that, being rooted and established in love, we may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:16-19)
⚔️❤️📖
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
⚔️❤️📖
St. Paul the Apostle, pray for us.

06/21/2024

St. Paul’s feast day is coming up! Today we begin our novena to St. Paul in preparation for his feast day on June 30. We invite you to join us in giving St. Paul your special intentions and in praying the novena. If you have any intentions you would like us to remember, feel free to comment or message!
⚔️❤️📖
Novena to St. Paul Day One: Today we pray for the grace to follow Jesus with all our heart, as St. Paul did. We pray in the words of St. Paul: “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give us a spirit of unity as we follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth we may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15:5-6).
⚔️❤️📖
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

We are 109 years old today! 🎉 On this day in 1915, Fr. James Alberione opened what would become the first print shop (and future ) for the Daughters of St. Paul. Only there were no books.

It was wartime. That first group of sisters gathered together to pray and sew uniforms. As they stitched, they exercised faith in Fr. Alberione's conviction that God was calling them to proclaim the Gospel with the press. They just had to await God's timing.

A century later, we're still here. We were born through the faith of those first sisters and God's fidelity to them. We continue to draw strength from the tabernacle and God's ongoing fidelity to each one of us.

In gratitude to all the sisters who have gone before us, and in the spirit of our father Saint Paul, we exclaim: "Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine!" (Eph 3:20)

Over the summer months, our Sisters take turns to make our annual eight-day silent retreat. Prayer and retreat is part of the daily, monthly, and yearly rhythm of life of religious Sisters. We Daughters of St. Paul have daily prayer time, including a daily Hour of Adoration. Once a month, we take a day of silent retreat, in which we step back, spend extra time with Jesus, reflect on the month we have just lived, and ask for graces for the month ahead. Similarly, once a year we are gifted with eight days of retreat to be “alone with God alone,” as our Founder and many other saints have said.

Over the summer, as our Sisters go and come from annual retreat, we’ll be reflecting with you on what happens during this time. For one thing, it is a time of silence. We keep silence throughout the whole of the eight days of retreat—including prayer time, but also meals, walks, even doing dishes! Why is silence so important on retreat? Exterior silence allows us to enter deeply into interior silence. Thoughts begin to calm down, to-do lists begin to subside, and what is really important, what is most deeply on our heart, comes to the surface and can be brought to Jesus.

So please pray for our Sisters who are living in exterior and interior silence in these days, and know that they are praying for you!
