We got our hands on a new yerba mate tea blend from our friends at Yerba mate is a popular drink of the southern regions of South America, traditionally drank from a hallowed out gourd and Bombilla (metal straw with filter). This blend features notes of lemongrass, ginger, and dandelion.

We came up with some new drinks inspired by the bright and citrusy notes of this blend. Try it with seltzer for refreshing beverage for the end of summer! Or, try our new Cereal Milk Yerba Mate Latte. Lemony yerba mate, oat milk, and a splash of strawberry will bring you back to fruity cereal mornings 🍓🍋🍊🥣🦜

Blueberry season is here! We recently sourced wild blueberries from in Maine to test out some sweet treats. These are our new Blueberry Sour Cream Muffins featuring flavors of fresh blueberries, lemon zest, and rich sour cream 🫐🫐🫐

Come check our new free library! Lots of books and games have been donated by our customers and staff. Feel free to leave, trade, or borrow a book. Games can be played in the cafe and returned to shelf for others to enjoy!

We are now offering an herbal iced tea! hooked us up with their Hibiscus Lime Cooler tea blend. It features tasting notes of pomegranate, orange peel, dried lime. So bright and refreshing and it’s caffeine free!

Wedding season is in full swing! We designed this cake inspired by the couple’s wedding invitation, featuring their custom color palette and patterns, and even a sweet homage to their dog.

If you’re a fan of our Toffee Pecan Shortbread, you’ll love our latest creation! This cookie features our house made toffee but we swapped the pecans with candied cashews. Come try our new Candied Cashew and Toffee Shortbread. They’re so delicious!

Today we’re featuring our Almond Croissant! Filled with a sweet almond cream, drizzled with honey, topped with toasted almonds, and lightly dusted with powdered sugar.

New poptart alert ‼️🚨 introducing our French Onion Soup Poptart, filled with rich caramalized onions that are seasoned with aromatic thyme, sherry, and topped with gruyère. Many tears were shed in the making of these poptarts. We chopped fifty pounds of onions and caramelized them in the oven for several hours.

We brought Bikini Bottom to life on this custom SpongeBob SquarePants cake 🧽🌊🪸🏝️🦀 Swipe to see the matching custom cupcakes!

We’re going bananas over our new Vegan Banana Bread Cookies 🍪🍌🐒 These have the same chewy texture as our vegan iced oatmeal cookies with the classic flavor of banana bread with chocolate chips. One of customers even described eating this cookie as a “spiritual experience”. Stop by the cafe this week to try them out!

Gemini Season is here! We have a new astrology gourmet design that’s perfect for the Gemini in your life. This design is now available on our website! ♊️

Check out some behind the scenes shots of this fishing boat cake we sculpted a few months ago! The biggest challenge was creating the “tuna tower” and long pulpit, which needed to be sturdy enough to survive a 3 hour drive to Maine! (thankfully it made it safely! 😅) 🎣🛥️

We are launching two new drinks to celebrate Spring! hooked us up with a delicious tea blend that features notes of peach and rose. We are now brewing a classic iced white peach tea & our new drink “peach please”, which is the iced tea with some simple syrup & peach purée.

It’s Aries Season ♈️ this new design is now available on our website!!

Add a little zest to your day with our new Key Lime Cookie! Our bakers zested a total of 20 limes just for this batch! These are similar to our lemon sugar cookies but instead feature a bright lime flavor, biscoff cookie pieces, and a torched marshmallow topping.

We’re feeling inspired by flavors that remind us of Spring! Introducing our new Vegan Raspberry Matcha Swirl Cookies. These have a bright and earthy flavor with background of vanilla and pair perfectly with a hot cup of tea.

Yeehaw! Cowgirls are so in and so are these Jalapeño and Cheese Corn Muffins 🐄⭐️🤠 In the batter, we mix in monterey jack, jalapeños and corn. Once fresh out of the oven, we drizzle hot honey on top.

It’s been a little over a year since Mike and Julie took over Oakleaf from the previous owners. It’s time to officially introduce them!

Julie Lyon is an alum of Massachusetts College of Art and Design, with a focus in illustration and painting, as well as a passion for cooking and baking. She has spent the past several years working to combine her love of food and art by creating custom sculpted, and hand-painted cakes. Julie joined Oakleaf’s team as a decorator in 2020 and became a co-owner in November 2022 along with Mike Wellen. She also loves frogs, raccoons and painting other people’s dogs.

Mike is a graduate of the pastry program at the Cambridge School of culinary arts, with a background in chemistry. He came to Oakleaf Cakes over five years ago after meeting the previous owner, Amanda, when she taught a cake decorating class at Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. He has been in kitchens for the majority of his life, whether professionally or at home. He and Julie took over the business in 2022 and hope to continue its presence in the community, and foster a greater sense of outreach.
