As I was headed to bed last night, I found myself feeling grumpy.
I wasn't feeling well - I had a sore throat - but it wasn't just that.
I was snappy with my family and I had this impulse to do work on my business.

"I need to finish my website" the voice in my head said. It was this inner judgement saying "I haven't done enough."

But I caught myself! .. instead of giving into that impulse (which I've done many times before)... I thought back over my day and said to myself "I've done a lot! Especially for one day, especially when I've not feeling great."

And then I asked myself "where is this feeling coming from?" And you know what I realized?

It was coming from this idea that I have not done something of value if I'm not making money or doing something "productive" (aka. is going to get me closer to making money).

But here's the thing, when I've moved from this anxious energy in the past, it has run me down and given me health troubles. So, I'm stopping!

I'm setting the intention to allow my businesses to unfold as my inner soul's desire leads it to!

Last night, instead of pulling out my computer and getting to work on Canva (I actually tried to do it on my phone and canva shut down on me - another great reminder, lol!)...

I resettled my altar, lit a candle, grabbed the crystal I felt I needed from my Reiki room, put on some Reiki music and laid down in bed, giving my sore throat some Reiki.

And you know what? When I woke up this morning, I felt so much better! My sore throat is *nearly* gone and my energy is almost back to normal. AND, I felt inspired to share this all with you here, on social media!

Big exhale, letting it all the way out.... Here's to trying to move through life with a little less pressure, and a little more patience:)

Even thorns have there beauty💜🌷🌺

These are all signs of grief:

-Feeling short or snappy or extra critical of people - especially those closest to you.  

-Feeling weepy, tired or frustrated at little things.

Grief is there for all of us, but some times we don’t recognize it. 

On this day of remembrance, I felt this little reminder about grief would be wise💜

Wendy was my Yoga Teacher in the 1990's and an exceptional person. She was the first to teach me about grief through this poem and her experience letting go of her mortal existence with the same deep awareness and sense of humor she brought to all her teachings.

I hope this finds you in a moment when you can be with the joy and the sadness of this imperminent existance.

Tending to your inner, feeling self is a gift to all around you.

Imagine you’re running down a hill. Your feet are moving with their own momentum carrying you forward - go, go, go. It can be hard to stop or even slow down.

Now you encounter an obstacle in your path. It could be a rock, a stream or maybe a bear. Whatever it is, immediately it requires you to slow your pace and adjust your path. Over, under, around or right back up the hill from where you came?

Just as in this analogy, the obstacles in your life provide an opportunity for reflection. They make you slow down, look at things from another angle, and perhaps shift your direction.

Ganesha is most often referred to as the remover of obstacles. But a wise teacher of mine once described him also as the placer of obstacles.

When I first heard this, I was surprised. Wasn’t Ganesha the one who was supposed to help clear my way? How on earth could putting obstacles in my path help me?

But there is so much truth in this duality. For it is when you are forced to pause, look inward, and reflect that you can find (and release) the inner obstacles that block your path to your heart’s gifts and your continued healing and growth.

It’s when these moments of change come into our lives that Reiki helps us move through it.

When we know there’s a shift coming, and we want to do it with intention. When we find ourselves in deep grief and need support to move through it (instead of pushing it away).

Thank you AI for helping bring to life some of the powerful images that come through during reiki sessions.
I was surprised this weekend at how powerful and fast the healings happened! I think it may be because of the solar eclipse energies we're all still seeped in.

This was one of the images that came through for one of my clients.
During the sessions, I spoke of how a broken heart is still intact, even though it's been cracked. Like a cracked ceramic bowl that still holds water. When our hearts break, they are still whole!

When we ended the session, the client shared that they had seen an image of plants sprouting from the cracks in the heart. So, I asked Canva Media Magic to create an image for me!

I found myself needing this today, so i thought I'd share😊

5min Energy Clearing A short visualization to promote love, compassion and understanding - both towards yourself and to those around you.

Just a gentle reminder, it's ok to cry. And finding someone to cry with can help.

Last week on a solo hike in Bailey, CO, I found this beautiful tree - A ponderosa pine with bright red bark. I leaned in to smell the vanilla scent these trees have and then just stayed.

Being with this tree being allowed my tears, which had been below the surface, finally flow.

Do I know what I was crying about?

No, not really.

I mean there's my personal grief, the grief of the world, tears of change... does it really matter?

Releasing our tears brings peace - and that's just what I found as I finished my hike:)

We all move through trauma.

Who is your witness?

Can you extend empathy / compassion to yourself?

The topic of trauma came up today and reminded me of this quote.

I love the idea presented here because it is SO DAMN EMPOWERING!

It is NOT saying - "you can (or should) deal with trauma all by yourself" - NO, we NEED support to help us feel seen and move through our hard times.

However, when we find ourselves in a place without that external empathetic witness, we can do our best to be that compassionate, understanding person *for ourselves.*

This can be as simple as placing your hand on your heart (or throat or neck or stomach - wherever you feel your trauma tends to reside) and say to this part of you:

"I see you" - in the most compassionate way you can. With DEEEP deep appreciate, and acceptance.
