"Having passed from this world to the Father, Christ gives us in the Eucharist the pledge of glory with him. Participation in the Holy Sacrifice identifies us with his Heart, sustains our strength along the pilgrimage of this life, makes us long for eternal life, and unites us even now to the Church in heaven, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and all the saints."

"God does not despise these hidden struggles with ourselves, so much richer in merit because they are unseen: ‘The patient man is better than the valiant and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh cities.’ (Prov. xvi. 32). By our little acts of charity practiced in the shade we convert souls far away, we help missionaries, we win for them abundant alms, and by that means build actual dwellings both spiritual and materials for our Eucharistic Lord."

"When the bee has gathered the dew of heaven and the earth's sweetest nectar from the flowers, it turns it into honey, then hastens to its hive. In the same way, the priest, having taken from the altar the Son of God (who is as the dew from heaven, and true son of Mary, flower of our humanity), gives him to you as delicious food."

- St. Francis de Sales

Many areas of Western New York will experience heavy snowfalls and drifting along with extremely high winds, bitter wind chills, and possible power outages. These are dangerous and life-threatening conditions. Please respect the travel bans in our communities. In light of these dangerous conditions no one should put themselves or others at risk to attend Sunday Mass this weekend.

I have asked those parishes who have livestream capabilities to livestream their weekend Masses. If you community has travel restrictions or dangerous weather conditions, do not attempt to attend Masses in person. Use the livestream technology to spiritually connect with others in prayer. Also, please check on neighbors who may be in need.

Please join me in praying for our first responders, utility workers, hospital workers, and all those serving our communities during this storm.

God bless you and thank you for bringing joy to families in need this holiday season! Warming Tree items of hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves can be placed on the tree until February 4, 2024.
