Dr. Mary Bush, forensic dentist and our associate dean for student affairs, has devoted more than a decade of her career to refuting that bitemark evidence can determine a suspect's guilt. Tools of her groundbreaking research are on display in the “Forensic Science on Trial” exhibition at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History through June 2025. The exhibit explores the way people influence the development, presentation and interpretation of forensic science.

Today is World Refugee Day, a day that honors and celebrates the estimated 114 million resettled individuals and families who have been displaced from their homes due to persecution, human rights violations, and acute and protracted violence. Our region is a refuge for resettled new Americans who have come from countries around the world.

On Saturday, June 22, Buffalo will celebrate them and other resettled New Americans during 2024 World Refugee Day in WNY at Front Park. The will be there to provide free oral health screenings and educational resources, including translated patient forms and kid-friendly activities to help children have positive experiences with dental care and education. We hope to see you there!

Today, we celebrate , a day to honor the resilience and strength of Black Americans, recognize their achievements and sacrifices, and acknowledge the work that still needs to be done to create a more equitable society.

Dr. Stephen Aszkler has been practicing orthodontics for 50+ years, and he's showing no signs of slowing down.
