Happy Back to School! As we begin a new school year, we were honored to be able to support students and their education through providing personal care product packages. Many thanks to our community members for their generous donations, and thank you Smith IB Magnet Elementary for allowing us to take part in a wonderful initiative!
A wonderful weekend celebrating the universal language and unifying power of dance with the Divan Center Womenโs Club! Featuring dance performances from across the world, including from Latin America, Gambia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Japan, Kazakhstan, and Turkey, the Celebration of Universal Dances invited guests to learn about the cultures in their communities through the medium of dance. Delicious Turkish food and lively freestyle performances from guests made for vibrant event!

This weekend, as Divan Center volunteers, we carried out our monthly food distribution at the Women Center. We experienced the joy of delivering hot meals to women in need during this meaningful event that strengthens the spirit of unity and solidarity.
Events like these remind us once again how important it is for our community to support each other. We sincerely thank all our volunteers and supporters who contributed.

Dr. Figen Es Meets with Divan Center Volunteers in North Carolina
On Friday, August 9th, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Figen Es to the Divan Center in North Carolina.She joined us as a special guest for an inspiring event focused on integration and socialization.
In her engaging speech, Dr. Figen Es highlighted how integration is not just a process but also a key step in strengthening our communityโs solidarity. It was a meaningful experience where ideas were shared on how newcomers can better adapt to the local community and develop a sense of active citizenship.
Our volunteers expressed great satisfaction with Dr. Es's insights, and we are grateful for the positive energy she brought to the event. These gatherings are vital in bringing us closer together as a community.
A big thank you to all our volunteers who participated, and our deepest appreciation to Dr. Figen Es for her valuable contributions. We look forward to continuing to enrich our community socially and culturally through more events like this.

This past weekend at Gettysburg College, Divan Nc volunteers had an incredible opportunity to attend The Dialogue Summit 2024. We were honored to hear from inspiring speakers and learn from the experiences of other dialogue institutes across the United States.
The seminars, attended by college students, young professionals, and dedicated volunteers, provided a vibrant platform for exchanging ideas and fostering collaboration. The energy and enthusiasm were palpable, and we left feeling deeply inspired and motivated.
As we reflect on the weekend's events, we are more committed than ever to continue fostering positive change in our communities. Let's keep the momentum going and work together to build a brighter future!

The Joy of Eid al-Adha and Father's Day at Divan Center

Shaykh/Mufti Manzar ul Islam al Azhari and Imam Sami Kocak enlightened us about the spirituality and community building aspects of Ramadan. Special thanks to Islamic Center of Cary, Apex Mosque and Islamic Center of Morrisville Communities and other guests for joining us on this special evening.

Divan Center NC ladies organized a lunch service at the The Women's Center on March 9th, contributing to the activities. We express our gratitude for hosting such a meaningful event!
Divan Center NC joined The Martin Luther King Jr. Interfaith Prayer Service organized by Christ the King Lutheran Church. Divan Center member Meryem gave a short presentation on the five pillars of Islam and guests were served Noah's pudding, a sign of diversity, prepared by Divan Center NC volunteers.

Divan Center NC volunteers joined the Triangle Interfaith Service at the Graystone Baptist Church. We pondered upon the blessings bestowed by Mother Earth and our responsibility to nurture and protect it along with its inhabitants with moving speeches, and delightful music. Very inspiring event! Special thanks to Tami Johns from Unity of the Triangle for inviting us!
Our girls' youth group attended Beth Shalom Wake County, NC Thanksgiving Gratitude Shabbat Program and illuminated the night by singing the Beautiful Names of God (Asma-ul Husna). Special thanks to Rabbi Ariel for hosting us on this special night!

White Memorial Presbyterian Church Raleigh hosted Divan Center NC women at the Food and Culture with Fellowship Event. We enjoyed a great hospitality and friendship! Such a lovely and welcoming community!
Divan Center NC Volunteers helped prepare 120,000 food packets for people in need at the Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church. It was a great team work, a very diverse group of volunteers hand in hand serving together. Very inspiring!

The Divan Center NC Annual Dialog Dinner was a great success! Special thanks to Christ the King Lutheran Church Pastor Wolfgang D. Herz-Lane and Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church Pastor Steve Schaick for sharing their insight with us on building bridges and strengthening community.
Kudos to Divan Center Youth volunteers for organizing such a lovely Dialog Iftar. It was a cultural feast with the Ebru Marble Art Show, Traditional Music Performance and of course delicious Turkish food!
The southern region of Turkey was rocked by a series of powerful earthquakes on February 6, 2023, leading to widespread destruction and the collapse of buildings. The tragedy has resulted in a significant loss of life, with thousands of fatalities and numerous injuries reported in both Turkey and northwestern Syria.
We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to all those affected and our hearts go out to those who have lost loved ones and to the communities that have been impacted.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Turkey, and we are committed to doing all that we can to support the relief efforts and help those in need.
