We’re excited for our family activities tonight as we’re collaborating with Words & Warmth to provide warm, handcrafted items to children and families in urgent need. Blankets made will be donated to Handle with Care for Kids distribution in the community.

The Mom of one of our staff members, Sandy Medlin, was recently honored as the customer of the month at Cary Audiology Associates PLLC and because of that, they’ve donated to The Carying Place in her name.

In Wake County, half of all low-income households face severe cost burdens, spending over 50% of their income on housing.* This leaves little for childcare expenses and no surplus for emergencies like car repairs, illnesses, or caregiving. Such unplanned issues can lead to missed wages, eviction, and homelessness. Many families resort to sleeping in cars, staying in motels or homeless shelters, or couch-surfing with friends or relatives. In fact, we're now receiving more than 175 inquiries a month from people seeking assistance.

Here's how you can help:
👉Volunteer as a support partner, meal provider or as part of our maintenance team to support our Journey Home program.

👉Raise funds to offset program costs by attending our annual gala on Sept 6th

We are so fortunate to have wonderful groups of volunteers that help us with our mission of helping homeless working families.

We rely heavily on groups to get work done at our 13 houses and this group from Martin Marietta came out earlier this year to do painting, maintenance and yard work at two of our properties.
