God gives His Word to instruct, guide, and bless our lives. The Scripture lessons in worship offer a menu every week to build up the people of God in faith and hope.
We will study the lessons for the following Sunday, and as we do, we expect that this Word will enrich and edify our community prayer, faith, and servant life in Christ.
From This Week's Epistle, Ephesians 6:10-20:
Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Time to register!
Only a few more days to register for the 2024 Convention in Cary for $65. Registration increases to $70 on September 1. Here is the link for online registration. https://lwmlcarolinas.org/how_do_i_register

Youth Ministry News!
Fresh from the National Church Workers Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana (aka Nationals 24), Youth Director Jenny and Children and Family Ministry Director Erika are feeling so inspired by the amazing presenters from all over the US, Bible studies, networking, new friendships, and so much more.

Middle School and High School Youth will be focusing on Hebrews 12:1-3 with a theme of ENDURE this year. (Also, the theme of the 2025 LCMS Youth Gathering).
We will be embracing the joy of being surrounded by the great cloud of witnesses, laying ourselves aside to see Jesus, and his endurance of the cross for us — all of us.

Resurrection Lutheran Preschool (RLP) is looking for caring, dependable individuals who enjoy working with young children.
Enthusiasm, patience, and a love of working with and teaching 2-year-old to young 5-year-old children is important, as well as being part of the team of the RLP Staff.
Although a degree in early education would be ideal, experience with children is considered. Our program is half day and works well with elementary/high school families’ schedules.
If interested or you know someone that may be interested, contact Diane Hooper at [email protected] or 919-851-7270.
Resumes may be sent to this email address.

From This Week's Epistle, Ephesians 3:14-21 ESV
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith - that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

With 160 kids served by 65 volunteers, we dove right into a friendship with God and oceans of fun.
Filled with awesome Bible-learning experiences, like God sightings where we helped kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life.

STAYCATION MISSION TRIP!
Eight amazing youth spent the last week of June on a Staycation Mission Trip. What is a Staycation Mission Trip? A week spent in service right here in the Cary area.
Our schedule looked something like this: serve at VBS, eat lunch, devotion time, serve the community/partner with other RLC groups, make dinner, and last but not least have some fun!
* Our Youth served at Vacation Bible School as leaders of crews, running the AV, or running stations
* We started a beautification process on campus (check it out by the Family Life Center kitchen door)
* Tie-dyed 12 white sheets for The Piecemakers to use in their quilts
* Painted stained glass with residents of the Assisted Living Program at Glen Aire
* Collected, delivered, and stocked 1,100 pounds of food at Western Wake Crisis Ministry
* Raked the mulch and prepped the Resurrection Lutheran Playground
Our theme for the week was tackling challenges. We faced a bunch. There were the record setting temperatures, the bus breaking down, a snake, the air in the Warehouse going out, but what we learned is that God’s word is more than words on a page but words for us to put into practice. We rose above the challenges, worked hard to complete our projects, and do it in a Christ-like manner.
Philippians 4:9, “What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me — practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”
We felt His presence and grace this week in the cool breezes (every once in a while), Tom Gebbia, Anne Marie Measmer, and Erika Hulse for helping us get to Western Wake, Erika Hulse again for being our emergency pick up when the bus broke down on the way to our service site, a pool day, Anne Marie Measmer for bringing us pizza and watermelon, Garett Nigg for helping us all week, two birthdays celebrated within the group, the excitement and faith of the little kids we served, the support for the Food Drive, the laughter shared at Glen Aire, Steve who worked in the Warehouse at Western Wake, a visit with the quilters and a refrigerator full of cold water.
In a week where we set out to bless the community, we found ourselves constantly blessed by God who always helped us rise above the challenges.
Congrats to the Team and THANK YOU!
Ben, Fiona, Garrett, Grant, Jonah, Josh, Logan, and Wyatt
Summer Blessings,
Ms. Jenny
