EXCITING NEWS: 🎉 We're excited to share that we welcomed 12k+ attendees at this year's N.C. Baptist summer camps across the state — including: Be.Do.Tell. at Fort Caswell, Caraway Conference Center and Camps, Truett Conference Center & Camp, Deep Impact, DI Kids & Happiness Retreat, NC

🙏 Pray for each of these students as they grow in their relationship with Jesus.

This half week at Red Springs is off to an amazing start! These students are working hard serving in the community and volunteering at the Odum Home. Please pray for this group as they continue making the name of Christ known!

On sites this week at Charity Mission Center! These groups are working hard, overcoming challenges, and praising God in it all. We have been serving this community through lawn care, home construction, packing food boxes, building furniture, kid’s sports camp, and more. Please pray for these students and leaders as they continue living out their love for Christ!

Our Deep Impact Cuba mission week was a huge success. 5 water systems delivered and installed, 8 churches hosted VBS, lots of maintenance work at the retirement home, and a huge amount of lives impacted for the Gospel!!

These students have officially wrapped up their first day on sites! Our 11 missions teams are all over Morehead City showing Christ’s love through meeting physical needs!

Our Charlotte team may have been small but they made a mighty impact in this community! From organizing clothes closets, to local landscaping, prayer walking in the heat, and more, we are proud of how this group served on mission!

Still thinking about the awesome time we had serving together last week in Hendersonville, NC!

Day Two on sites in Hendersonville!

First day on sites in Hendersonville, NC! These students jumped right in laying sod, painting railing at Fruitland Bible College, washing cars, visiting local assisted living facilities, organizing restores with Habitat for Humanity, filling dumpsters, feeding the local Sheriff’s department, and more. We can’t wait to continue serving alongside these students all week!

Our teams have been hard at work these last few days! They’ve completed a ramp, planted crops, prepared food, and loved this community well. Keep shining a light for Jesus!

Tuesday at DI Shelby looked like free shaved ice and Gospel conversations at the thrift store, preparing a garden space for a local community, partnering with a food pantry to provide fresh vegetables, removing a temporary ramp and building a long term solution, a committed co****le tournament, and diving deeper into our call to holiness. Talk about a powerful first full day!!

Final rehearsal and prep before our teams arrive in Shelby today at 1pm. Our DI staff has done an amazing job preparing for the summer and we are ready to go.

Pray for strength and for God to move this summer.

DEEP IMPACT STAFF team building day was a success. We completed the most difficult escape room they had with only 1 minute 14 seconds left on the clock!!

Hi my name is Jorja! I am 18 years old, I play guitar, mandolin and sing (I am also attempting to learn banjo!). I love to play worship music, play mandolin in a bluegrass band, and write and perform my own songs with my best friend. In my spare time I love spending time outside and training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and MMA.

Hey I’m Gabe. I graduated high school May 29th and left to work with D.I. the next day. I’ve been running sound at my church since 7th grade. I’m seeking God’s direction for my future and I’m looking forward to this summer!

My name is Hallelujah, but most people call me Halley! I am so excited to serve with Deep Impact this summer! Growing up my dad was a pastor and missions have always been important to me and my family. I am originally from Texas and ended up here because of the military. I am 19 and am working on my associates in the visual arts at my community college before I transfer to South Eastern to get my bachelor's in English. I can't wait to see how the Lord will use this summer to grow His kingdom!

My name is Colby and I climb roofs, praise God, and love being with people. I’m extremely excited to be serving with Deep Impact this year!

Hey!! My name is Kendall and I am one of the staffers for Deep Impact this summer! I'm so excited to serve on the worship team and assist in Children's Ministry! Serving on staff this summer is such a full circle moment because I used to attend Deep Impact as a student! I am so excited to meet you all and to see how God moves this summer!!

Thank you to Pastor Aaron, Melanie, Pastor John and Hannah for the cookout and hospitality for our Deep Impact Staff tonight. We look forward to being part of worship at Hephzibah Baptist Church Wendell tomorrow morning. Our very own Deep Impact Director (Brandon Powell) will be preaching and our staff will be recognized and commissioned for their summer missionary service.

Hi, my name is Gideon and I’m excited to serve as your worship coordinator for the summer! I am currently working on my bachelors degree in HPE and am enjoy college. I also love leading worship on Sundays with my home church worship team and have been doing so for several years. I can’t wait to see how the Lord works this summer and to see what amazing plans he has in store for us!

What’s up, my name is Dylan and I’m super psyched to serve with Deep Impact this summer. I really enjoy having deep conversations about life, learning about the world and how it works, singing with friends, and I’m always down for some friendly competition from sports to board games. If I could have one super power, I would want the ability to perfectly imitate anything. Lastly, when I die I hope my life can be summed up by Acts 20:24.

Hey guys, I’m Abby! I am thrilled to be serving Deep Impact this summer as Assistant Director and Social Media Coordinator! My favorite ways to spend a day are playing games, being with family, walking trails, doing projects, and hanging out with kiddos. It is a joy to have the opportunity to spend the summer making Christ’s name known throughout NC with this sweet team!

Brandon Powell serves as the Student Mobilization Coordinator for Baptists On Mission and is the fearless Director of Deep Impact!! Brandon has served NC churches in pastoral ministry for over 20 years and has been with BOM since December 2022. Brandon and his wife Gina have three grown children: Katelyn (husband Preston), Joshua, and Madison (husband Lawrence), and they welcomed their first grandchild, Maggie, on Christmas Day 2023.
