A story from the border. In 2012, José Antonio Elena Rodríguez was murdered by a Border Patrol agent for throwing rocks at the wall. The agent said their life was threatened despite the 30 ft wall on top of a significant ridge. The first photo is looking down from the base of the border wall at the spot where José died after being shot more than 10 times. The Border Patrol agent opened a hatch in the wall and shot the sixteen-year-old child with an unobstructed view. There's no reasonable way the agent could have perceived José as a threat but responded with lethal force anyway. The agent was found not guilty for the murder of the Mexican teenager by a US jury.

Christmas in July is here! Our month-long food drive kicked off today, and our store is packed with lots of holiday decor and more! Each week, you'll see a new list with the most needed items, and you can drop off items for our food drive at the Dorcas Pantry all month.

Virtual Neighborhood Rezoning Meetings | Town of Cary When Cary receives a request from an applicant to rezone an area, neighbors within 800 feet of the property are notified to inform and update them about the process. This early input helps developers work with neighborhoods as they move forward to develop land use.
