There will be activities all day! Toward Zero Waste will be tabling at the Earth Day Market from 12-3p, come by and say hello!
TZW will have a table at Raleigh City Farm Bearthday! The farm will celebrate their birthday and honor Earth Day. It’s free to attend, and open to the public! Delicious food and beverages will be available for purchase; tours of newly developed areas of the site; children’s activities and educational demonstrations; plein air artists, live music and free cupcakes! Did you know that 1.3 billion pounds of pumpkins end up in landfills each year? Join us in taking action on November 4th at our Smash Don't Trash Event, taking place at the Midtown Farmers' Market in partnership with CompostNow! From 8 am to noon, we'll be providing additional compost bins to collect your post-Halloween pumpkins.
To ensure these pumpkins can be effectively composted, please take a moment to remove any non-biodegradable glitter, paint, candle wax, etc!

ACTION: Stop the NCGA from Stripping Local Governments of Authority to Fight Plastic Pollution – MountainTrue Plastic pollution is a threat to our environment and to the health of North Carolina residents. Email your legislators and let them know that our right to protect ourselves from dangerous pollutants is too important to be traded away to fossil fuel and retail industry lobbyists in backroom deals.
This fall we are relaunching our Toward Zero Waste t-shirt sales! For a donation of $30 we will either ship your shirt to your home or deliver it at any Toward Zero Waste event. Each t-shirt is sustainably sourced and produced in North Carolina and comes in a range of sizes from xs to 2XL. Check out our website under the "Donations" tab to get one while supplies last!
