As we near the end of our Bible memory challenge through the book of Titus, we invite you to join us this month in meditating on verses 12-13.

Remember, scripture memory is an essential practice in the life of a believer. Through God's word, we come to understand His nature and His desires for our lives. By committing scripture to memory, we carry His wisdom and guidance with us at all times, ready to draw upon it in moments of need or to share it as a blessing with others. If you haven't been studying with us from the beginning, don't worry; there's no better time to start than now!

Join us this month as we delve into Titus 3:6-8. As we commit these verses to memory, let's meditate on the generosity of God, who "poured out the Holy Spirit generously through Jesus Christ our Savior." This act of divine kindness is a testament to our salvation, not by our deeds, but by His mercy, through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. These verses remind us of the importance of maintaining good deeds, not as a means to earn salvation, but as a reflection of our faith and gratitude for the grace we have received. Embracing these scriptures in our hearts and minds, let us inspire each other to live lives that are zealous for good works, showcasing the transformation brought about by our faith in Jesus Christ.

Every church has its opportunities and challenges. That has been true since the church was founded in the early part of the first century A.D. In Thessalonica, the church existed in a commercial center where ancient trade routes came together. The city was a metropolis in Greece with nearly 100,000 residents when the apostle Paul ventured into it. Because of his conflict with Jewish people there, Paul fled as the Jews formed a mob and threatened to murder him and his companions. This was only a short time after he had started his ministry among the Gentiles in the city.

Paul was so concerned about these new Christians that he wrote them a letter (1 Thessalonians). It was around 50 A.D. and Paul was already church planting in Corinth. He wrote these dear saints in Thessalonica to defend his motives and means for planting the church there, to exhort them to live the right kind of Christian life, and to comfort those who were grieving at the death of loved ones.

As a church in the 21st century America, we are somewhat detached from the language and culture of ancient Thessalonica. However, we do know the power of the gospel in our salvation, the struggle with sin and Satan, and the importance of living God-pleasing lives. The themes of this letter still resonate here and now. We need to show each other Christian love (4:9-12) and face grief with Christian hope (4:13-18).

Join us this Spring as we dive headfirst into the pool of Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians:

March 17: Evidence of the Gospel Power in a Changed Life (1:1-10)
March 24: The Measure of Effective Ministry (2:1-13)
April 7: Satan Trembles When the Gospel is Preached (2:14-3:10)
April 14: God Gives the Increase (3:11-13)
April 21: Rejoicing God's Heart (4:1-2)
April 28: The Necessity of Moral Purity (4:3-8)
May 12: Mutual Love (4:9-12)
May 19: Grief Overcome Through Hope (4:13-18)
May 26: One Eye Open (5:1-11)
June 2: My Responsibility to Others (5:12-15)
June 9: My Responsibility to God (5:16-22)
June 23: Our Responsibility (5:23-28)

This month's scripture memory verses in Titus provide an opportunity to meditate on God's word.

Scripture memory is important as it helps us better understand God's will, guards us against temptation, enables us to live in obedience to God, prepares us to encourage both believers and unbelievers, and renews our minds with truth. Take advantage of this opportunity to spend time in God's word and commit His truth to memory.

During our Sunday evening study, we have been delving into the book of James. Through these passages, we can understand that God wants us to seek Him during difficult times, so that we may strengthen our relationship with Him. With God's guidance, the Holy Spirit transforms us from within, and our actions should reflect this internal change. We must strive to behave in a way that honors our Lord, as our thoughts, behaviors, and attitudes are transformed. Life is full of challenges, but God remains with us, having redeemed us and given us hope. Let's come together and learn from James, allowing the Holy Spirit to shape us into the likeness of Christ with every passing day.

Scripture Memory: Join us in memorizing the Book of Titus. We've been diligently working through Titus since the beginning of 2023. If you haven't had a chance to read Titus before, or struggled to grasp its meaning, now is an excellent opportunity to meditate on and memorize these verses.

Titus teaches us about:
*The structure and leadership within the local church
*Christian households
*Embracing a new life in Christ Jesus
*The significance of grace in salvation

Every last Sunday of the month, we challenge ourselves during our evening service's "see who can say it" time. Join us if you can!

The Start of 2024: A fresh outlook and a new beginning
As we ring in the new year, many of us make resolutions to improve over the next twelve months. For Christians, the start of a new year signifies another opportunity to read through the Bible. Our sermon series will focus on the book of Revelation, which may appear daunting at first glance with its discussions about the end of the world. However, amidst the serious reminders throughout the book, it also offers hope to those who believe in the gospel message. The book assures us that Jesus will return to earth and God will rightfully judge those who oppose Him. This will mark the end of sin and the beginning of a new earth, where God will dwell with His creation for eternity. While this may signify the end of everything we know, it's also the beginning of His eternal kingdom – a source of hope for all believers.

We would love to have you join our Adult Bible Classes on Sunday mornings at 9:30am.

Here’s a little more info in case you’re curious: The main idea behind our Adult Bible classes is to provide Bible education for people who might not have had the opportunity to attend a Christian college and would like to have a biblical education.

We have just started a new cycle of classes. Below you will find the current classes and a little about each one.

-Practical Theology (Biblical Counseling): This course is an examination of the method of spiritual change as it is explained in the Bible. The emphasis is on how God uses his word, the church, and trials to help us grow into Christlikeness.

-Systematic Theology: This traces the doctrine of God throughout the entirety of Scripture. Much of the course examines the person and nature of God the Father.

-Biblical Theology: This course will continue to look at important sections of the Bible. We will take a careful look at the Exodus and Sinai events in the Old Testament.

If you have any questions about these classes, or want more information, please feel free to comment below or send us a message! We hope to see you soon! ☀️
