Looking for a great place to get away and spend some time in nature unwinding? Morning Star Resort is located on the Cass Lake Chain of Lakes in the heart of the forested lake country of Northern Minnesota. We are a family owned and operated business and we take pride in helping people relax on their vacations.

Lake Andrusia and the Cass Lake Chain is perfect for all of your boating and fishing needs. With several lakes to access by connecting rivers you’ll never run out of options to explore. With a great selection of fish, eagles soaring above you, and plenty of loons to spot there is never a boring day on the lake.

All of our cabins are located a short distance from the water and are all ground level to the lake. All cabins have air conditioning and cable TV and their own fire pit.

With a sandy beach area, swing set, free use of the kayaks or paddle board, water slide and water trampoline, the kids will all have plenty of options to explore too.

The lodge offers a full bar and grill and a game room to keep the kiddos occupied even on a rainy day. The hands scooped ice cream is always a favorite after a day spent on the lake.

First critter of the year for Dakota! Super early this year!

The ice officially went off the lake yesterday. Before we know it the dock will be filled with fisherman and kids will be running, playing, and jumping off the dock. We still have some availability. Give us a call if you want to book your escape!

Happy Easter from our family to yours! Just a tiny bit of ice left out there!! Shouldn’t be long now.

It’s nice to see some open water out there!

Our Morning Star Family is grieving the loss of one of our seasonal campers tonight. What a tragic loss of such a young life. Scotty you will be missed by us all. We are thankful for all of the years of fun and memories we have shared. Our hearts are with all of the Winkelman Family ❤️

What a gorgeous sunset tonight! Lake Andrusia never disappoints.

We have 9 inches of ice and are finally setting some spear houses. We are seeing some really nice fish so far!

We woke up to a frozen lake this morning! Always a fun thing to see.

While our kitchen is now closed for the season, our lodge will still be open for drinks, pizzas, ice cream, and games this weekend.

River has been so sad without people coming to see her this week and the kids all back at school. She’ll be waiting for you!

Here is our lodge hours for the coming week. We will be closed Wednesday and Thursday and will reopen the lodge Friday for our last weekend of the restaurant for the 2023 season. Thanks for your support!

A great way to support a great cause!

Starting today we are switching to our late summer hours for the bar and grill. The lodge will still be open for drinks and pizza Monday- Thursday 11-7. The full restaurant will be open Friday-Sunday for the next few weeks. Our last day for the kitchen will be Saturday September 2nd!

Our kitchen is open today at noon and we are starting the day out with lots of Bloody Mary’s! Come on out and see us!

This weekend’s special is a smoked brisket sandwich served with coleslaw and fries. Dakota helped Dad with smoking the brisket this time.

We are running lots of specials this weekend to celebrate the 4th of July!

We have our annual Whapatui drink. It’s a fruity drink that comes served with fruit soaked in alcohol.

Sunday we will have Smoked Brisket on special

All specials will be available until sold out

As always we have Mini Donuts and Hand scooped Ice cream for Dessert.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we are unable to open the kitchen today. We are hoping to have the issue resolved by tomorrow. In the meantime the bar with be open with drinks and pizza.

Memorial Weekend Hours!!

Happy memorial weekend! We hope everyone has some fun planned. We also hope you all take some time to remember our service members who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
Our family will be celebrating Gracie’s graduation from high school this weekend so our hours will be limited for the Lodge bar and grill. We hope you understand. Our family pours our hearts and souls in to this business and this is one of the few times we take a break to celebrate our children’s lives. Our hours will be:
